Coming to Bao Yen commune, Thanh Thuy district these days, we feel that the rural face here has really changed, the infrastructure has been built spaciously, production has developed, the material and spiritual life of the people has been increasingly improved. That is the result of focusing on developing tourism in the locality.
When starting to implement the National Target Program on New Rural Development, Bao Yen commune encountered many difficulties and challenges in terms of facilities and infrastructure, especially low income of the people, high poverty rate, many unemployed and untrained workers; low rate of hardened and concreted roads..., but with many efforts, the commune achieved new rural standards in February 2018. In particular, tourism is one of the focuses that the locality pays special attention to, shifting the economic structure towards trade - services to develop the commune.
The hot mineral water mine in Bao Yen is one of the valuable resources for developing resort tourism, creating conditions for Thanh Thuy district to attract potential investors to build eco-resort tourism destinations such as: Tre Nguon Resort, Wyndham Lynn Time Thanh Thuy, contributing to creating jobs and improving the lives of local people.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Huong - Chairman of Bao Yen Commune People's Committee, Thanh Thuy District said: "Since the eco-tourism resorts have been put into operation, the face of the commune has changed. Infrastructure in the commune has been invested in and built, creating jobs for about 100 local people, and agricultural products and goods of the people are consumed. The average income per capita of the commune is 57 million VND/person/year, the poverty rate has decreased to 1.7%".
Currently, in the district, there are many units exploiting resort tourism, entertainment, and eco-tourism services operating effectively such as: Ngoc Xanh Island Tourist Area, Bamboo Resort, Tre Nguon Resort, Thanh Lam Resort, Thanh Thuy Resort, Song Da Ecological Garden House,... In addition to contributing to the local budget, the units also actively participate in volunteer activities, creating jobs for local people, contributing to local economic growth.
Not only has a rare source of hot mineral water bestowed by nature, Thanh Thuy district also contains many historical and cultural relics, unique traditional festivals that attract tourists such as: Lang Suong Temple Traditional Festival, Dao Xa communal house elephant procession, Tam Cong temple boat racing festival, La Phu communal house "Cay Bong" robbery festival, historical relic - Tu Vu Victory Monument...
In the first 8 months of 2024, the number of tourists to Thanh Thuy is estimated at 795 thousand, of which the number of overnight guests is estimated at 172 thousand (up 45% over the same period last year); revenue is estimated at 560 billion VND (up 41% over the same period last year), showing the acceleration of the district's tourism industry.
The "Street Music Night" program is held on weekends, creating a space for cultural exchange in Thanh Thuy district.
Opportunity to break out
After the 26th Congress of Thanh Thuy District Party Committee, term 2020-2025, Thanh Thuy District Party Committee issued Resolution No. 08-NQ/HU, dated April 16, 2021 on tourism development in Thanh Thuy District for the period 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030, in which tourism is identified as a breakthrough, building the district into a key tourism area, an eco-tourism and resort center of the province. At the same time, tourism development is linked with new rural construction, focusing on forming tourism products; preserving and promoting cultural heritages and fine traditional values of the nation, protecting the environment and resources for tourism.
Thanh Thuy strives to attract more than 1.5 million visitors/year by 2025; revenue of more than 1,000 billion VND; create jobs for about 18,000 workers. The goal by 2030 is for Thanh Thuy to become a tourist district, a tourist center of Phu Tho province with 2.5 million visitors/year, revenue of nearly 1,800 billion VND, creating jobs for nearly 30,000 workers.
In the coming time, the district will continue to focus on leading and directing the synchronous implementation of tourism development solutions, focusing on promoting trade promotion programs and activities, product promotion, and e-commerce development; focusing on resources, creating favorable conditions and environments, attracting investors to implement large projects, key tourism projects and a number of model urban area projects, new rural tourism residential areas, and advanced new rural communes with an investment capital of more than 10,000 billion VND. At the same time, focusing on capital to build and upgrade connecting routes between key tourist areas and spots with neighboring districts and provinces and supporting businesses and individual households to build tourism products and OCOP products to serve tourists.
The district also continues to promote propaganda and advertising of potentials, strengths, cooperation to promote and link tourism market development, diversify tourism types and typical tourism products of the district; promote propaganda and advertising of Thanh Thuy tourism image on electronic information sites and social networks such as Zalo, Facebook, etc. to gradually turn Thanh Thuy tourism into a spearhead economic sector and a key tourism area of Phu Tho province.
Comrade Duong Quoc Lam - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Thuy District said: In recent years, the district has focused on directing the implementation of a breakthrough in tourism development under the close leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee and the correct orientation in economic development of the Thanh Thuy District Party Executive Committee. Thanh Thuy District has focused on investing in infrastructure construction, site clearance for key projects; creating conditions to attract potential investors to build eco-resorts, spiritual tourism, develop high-quality tourism products, associated with building the Thanh Thuy tourism brand.
In particular, the Thanh Thuy Tourism Week - Autumn 2024 event, associated with the 25th anniversary of the district's re-establishment, took place from August 31 to September 4, with the theme "Returning to the green water area" to launch the Thanh Thuy tourism season in 2024. The event aims to introduce unique cultural features, promote potential, and contribute to stimulating Thanh Thuy tourism, with the orientation of developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector of the district as set forth in the Resolution of the District Party Congress.
With the available potentials and advantages, along with the determination of the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in the district, we believe that Thanh Thuy district will achieve the set goals and plans, create a breakthrough in tourism development, and actively contribute to the general process of successfully implementing the Resolutions of Party Committees at all levels and the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
