Recently, at the Thay Thim tomb area, the Management Board of the Thay Thim Palace Relic (La Gi town, Binh Thuan) organized the traditional rituals of the Thay Thim Tomb Sweeping Festival in 2024. Many local people and visitors came to participate in the rituals and visit the tomb.
The Thay Thim Tomb Sweeping Ceremony is one of the two major annual ceremonies of the Dinh Thay Thim Festival, along with the Thay Thim Death Anniversary (taking place from the 14th to the 16th of the 9th lunar month). In addition to traditional rituals, the Thay Thim Tomb Sweeping Ceremony in the year of the Dragon also includes folk games and competitions imbued with coastal culture to serve locals and tourists in the early spring. Because it takes place right on the occasion of the New Year, visitors come here to pray for peace, fortune, and charity activities. It is known that the Dinh Thay Thim Festival has been recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage.
According to the report of the People's Committee of La Gi town, during the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin (29th - 4th day of Tet), the town welcomed about 30,000 visitors (mainly domestic visitors) to visit, travel, and participate in traditional festival activities (an increase of 200% compared to the same period last year). Besides visiting Dinh Thay Thim, visitors also mainly concentrated in the area of Nganh Tam Tan (Tan Tien commune), Doi Duong (Binh Tan ward), Cam Binh tourist area (Tan Phuoc commune), resorts and hotels in the town.
According to the assessment of the town's tourism industry, the local tourism activities during the Tet holiday of Giap Thin were quite safe, with no cases of soliciting, stalking tourists, or disorder at tourist attractions in the area. Security, order, environmental sanitation, food safety, service quality and prices were always guaranteed for tourists to enjoy the spring, with no cases of food poisoning or drowning. In addition, during the Tet holiday, the town continuously held exciting cultural, artistic, and sports activities, which were also attractive to tourists.
