According to historical records, Cao Son Marquis Le Manh was from Giap village, Co Dinh commune. His family name was Le, his given name was Manh, his courtesy name was Trong Dung, he was tall and big. He followed King Le to fight the enemy, he was intelligent and strong, he made many great achievements, so he was given the title of Cao Son Marquis by the king. After the Mac dynasty usurped the throne of the Le dynasty, he went into hiding in his hometown. During this time, he went to the forest and caught a lost tiger cub, he brought it home and raised it like a dog in the house, he and the tiger were inseparable, not leaving each other for even half a step.

Later, Nguyen Kim found the descendant of the Le dynasty, Duy Ninh, and enthroned him as king, with the title Trang Tong, and established the capital in An Truong (also known as Yen Truong), planning to destroy Mac and reclaim the country. When the capital returned to Van Lai - Yen Truong, he returned to assist the Le king and brought along a grown tiger. He was a military officer of the Le dynasty, and a close friend of Chieu Huan Cong Nguyen Kim (from Tong Son district, now Ha Trung district). He was intelligent and strong, and made many great contributions and was granted many titles and salaries by the Le king.

After Nguyen Kim was poisoned to death by the Mac Dynasty's general Duong Chap Nhat in 1545, Nguyen Kim's two sons, Nguyen Uong and Nguyen Hoang, were not yet able to take on the task of the restoration, so King Le appointed Nguyen Kim's son-in-law Trinh Kiem, Grand Tutor Lang Quoc Cong, to hold all military power and take charge of organizing the destruction of the Mac. To gain full power, Trinh Kiem tried every way to eliminate Nguyen Kim's close generals, first killing Nguyen Kim's son Nguyen Uong. Nguyen Hoang - the second son - was extremely worried. At the suggestion of Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem, Nguyen Hoang asked his eldest sister, Trinh Kiem's wife, to ask for permission to guard Thuan - Quang land.

In that chaotic context, Cao Son Marquis Le Manh still wholeheartedly assisted King Le in carrying out the restoration work. King Le loved him very much and appointed him to the position of Left and Right Palace Commander in charge of ten thousand soldiers guarding the capital An Truong, protecting the king. At that time, Trinh Kiem had the intention of building a separate career for the Lord, secretly sending people to persuade Le Manh to join him to overthrow the Le dynasty, but he firmly refused, so Trinh Kiem ordered people to poison him. After his death, King Le mourned and conferred on him the title of Cao Son Marquis (a title ranked second among the five titles) as a lucky god of 10 villages, belonging to Co Dinh commune at that time and built a temple to worship him here.

The temple of Cao Son Hau is not very large, including a 3-room front house and 2 main rooms arranged in the shape of the letter "Dinh". The temple is built facing south, in front is the Nhom River, behind is the residential area. For the martial artist Cao Son Hau, not only Giap village worships him but all villages in Co Dinh worship him and he is considered the village's god. At the temple of Cao Son Hau, there is still a pair of parallel sentences: "The spirit of the general is a thousand years old temple; Cao Son's righteous spirit is a ten-village god". Along with the flow of time and history, the temple of Cao Son Hau has gone through many changes, the temples and historical relics in the villages have all been destroyed, only the temple of Cao Son Hau in residential group 2, Nua town, Trieu Son still retains its original appearance and has always received investment and restoration attention from the government and people here.

In 1993, the Cao Son Hau Temple was recognized by the Provincial Department of Culture and Information (now the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism) as a provincial historical and cultural relic and is located in the relic and scenic complex of Co Dinh. Continuing that tradition, today, generations of children of the ancient homeland of Co Dinh always promote the tradition of diligence and creativity, the tradition of studious culture, and the spirit of ardent patriotism. That is a great pride, and at the same time, a heavy responsibility of generations in restoring, preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, contributing significantly to the construction and protection of the homeland and the country.
