On February 28, in Thanh Hoa City, Thanh Hoa Literature and Arts Magazine organized the Summary and Award Ceremony of the Thanh Hoa Poetry Contest 2024 and launched the Good Short Story Contest 2025. Attending the ceremony were many artists and poetry lovers inside and outside the province.

The Thanh Hoa Poetry Contest 2024 is open to all professional and non-professional Vietnamese authors living in the country and abroad. The general theme is to praise the land and people, promote cultural, historical and traditional values in the construction and protection of Thanh Hoa, in the process of formation, development and integration; on the innovation, industrialization and modernization; on the current new rural construction movement of the province.
In particular, the Thanh Hoa Poetry Contest 2024 encourages in-depth works written about tourism and environmental protection, in which the topic of Ben En National Park is a highlight.
The purpose of the contest is to search for and discover good writers, bringing literature and art closer to the public. At the same time, through the contest, it contributes to promoting and spreading the beauty of Thanh Hoa land and people; propagating and encouraging the Party committees, authorities and people of all ethnic groups in Thanh Hoa province to constantly strive to realize the goals set out in Resolution No. 58-NQ/TW of the Politburo on building and developing Thanh Hoa province to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

After nearly 1 year since its launch, the Organizing Committee has received thousands of works from hundreds of authors nationwide (more than 30 provinces and cities). Many authors are children far from home who have turned their pens to the motherland. This shows that the contest has created inspiration and has had a wide influence.
Among thousands of entries, the Organizing Committee selected 300 entries from 200 authors for the preliminary round. From there, the Preliminary Committee continued to select 50 entries from 40 qualified authors for the final round.
More than 200 works submitted to the Thanh Hoa poetry contest were selected to be published in 10 issues of Thanh Hoa Literature and Arts Magazine in 2024.
The 2024 Thanh Hoa Poetry Contest organized by Thanh Hoa Literature and Arts Magazine was a great success. The strong impact and spread of the contest went beyond the framework of a province, which is a good sign for the development of the local literature and arts magazine.
Poet Vu Quan Phuong, representative of the Jury, commented: “The works that made it to the final round all come from writers who have experience in creative work. The representative style of this contest is still the realistic style interspersed with romantic elements in ideas and sentences to magically transform nature and poeticize and spiritualize details in old stories and legends.”
Representatives of the Organizing Committee and members of the Preliminary Council awarded certificates to the authors who won second prize in the Thanh Hoa Poetry Contest 2024.
As a result, 1 First Prize was awarded to the work “Xu Thanh” by author Nguyen Huu Quy; 2 Second Prizes were awarded to the poetry collection “Tho son trang”, “Duoi kia la nui” by poet Hoang Quoc Canh and the work “Ve vien Ben En” by author Ha Van Dat; 3 Third Prizes were awarded to the works: “Tien dinh nui Nua” by author Dinh Ngoc Lam, “Noi Tu Thuc met tien” by author Dinh Ngoc Diep, “Con xin ru me mot lan” by author Pham Thi Kim Khanh; 4 Fourth Prizes were awarded to the works: “Ban tay em hoa mot dong” by author Vu Quang Trach, “Ve Nga Son” by author Mai Huong, “Ve hang Co Phuong” by author Truong Cuu, “Thanh pho minh toan thuc doi minh” by author Hanh Le. 2 Special Prizes were awarded to the authors: “Doan khuc Ben En” by Trinh Oanh Lan and “Chieu Ben En” by Nguyen Xuan Nha.
Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Hoa Literature and Arts Magazine Luu Thi Nga and representative of the Preliminary Council awarded the certificate to the author who won the Third Prize of Thanh Hoa Poetry Contest 2024.
Following the results achieved from the Thanh Hoa Poetry Contest in 2024, Thanh Hoa Literature and Arts Magazine launched the Good Short Story Contest in 2025.
The works participating in the contest must closely follow the reality of contemporary Vietnamese social life, clearly and vividly depict the achievements of the homeland's innovation in recent times; reflect the competitive spirit of labor and study of all classes of people in the cause of innovation of the homeland and country; create a widespread influence, strongly arouse the spirit of patriotism, the desire to contribute, and the responsibility of artists to the nation and the province on the journey to prosperity and happiness.
The authors won the Fourth Prize of the Thanh Hoa Poetry Contest in 2024.
Priority is given to works written about building and developing Thanh Hoa culture and people to meet the requirements of rapid and sustainable development of the province and the country.
Entries must be no longer than 7,000 words long and must be new and unpublished in any media or social network. Entries are open to all authors living and working in all regions of the country.

The award structure includes: 1 First prize, 2 Second prizes, 3 Third prizes, 4 Fourth prizes.
Time to receive works from January 20, 2025 to November 30, 2025. Summary and award ceremony in January 2025.
