The North Korean team tried very hard to attack. However, they had a lot of difficulty finding a way into the Japanese goal.
The red-shirt strikers chose to shoot from afar but their shots were often inaccurate. Meanwhile, each of Japan's attacks was very sharp. In the 26th minute, they almost doubled the gap if Chiba Remina's header had been a little more accurate.
The game was going in Japan's favor when they suddenly conceded a goal. In the 38th minute, Wi Jong-sim broke free before crossing the ball inside. The ball went in lightly but the Japanese defenders all missed, and Kim Kyong-yong easily scored from close range.
In the second half, the two teams played tit for tat. The Japanese team took advantage of their chances better. They regained the lead in the 66th minute with a header from Osawa Haruka. In the 69th and 72nd minutes, they scored two more goals thanks to Tanikawa Momoko and Chiba Remina.
In the remaining time, North Korea's efforts were limited to opportunities. After 90 minutes, the team from the land of the rising sun won 4-1, thereby winning the gold medal of the 19th ASIAD.
