The Provincial Border Guard Party Committee issued a Resolution to lead the implementation of tasks for the last 6 months of the year.

On June 25, the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee held a Conference to issue a Resolution on leadership in implementing border guard tasks in the last 6 months of 2024; summarizing 10 years of implementing Resolution 689-NQ/QUTW dated October 10, 2014 of the Central Military Commission on preventing and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, catastrophes, and search and rescue until 2020 and the following years.

In the first 6 months of 2024, the Provincial Border Guard Party Committee has promoted the spirit of democracy, solidarity, focused on leadership and direction to successfully implement resolutions and directives on military, defense and border work tasks. Lao Cai Border Guard successfully led the fight against 11 cases/15 subjects, seized evidence including 5 heroin cakes, 206 kg of fireworks... Coordinated with other forces to handle 18 cases/6 subjects, seized evidence including 110.9 kg of various types of fireworks, 1,000 kg of commercial sturgeon. Administratively handled, fined 20 cases/39 subjects, collected 164 million VND to the state budget. Bilateral patrol once, joint patrol 5 times/555 officers and soldiers from each side participated.

In addition, the Provincial Border Guard Command organized gift giving, medical examination and treatment, free medicine provision and organized Tet celebrations for people worth nearly 600 million VND and presented 463 gifts. Border guards coordinated with Party committees, local authorities, agencies and units to organize 11 programs in border communes, wards and towns, with a total value of nearly 2 billion VND. Coordinated with local authorities to organize 855 propaganda sessions with 1,238 officers and soldiers participating, 18,427 listeners; coordinated with the Propaganda Department of border communes to organize propaganda, dissemination and legal education in 132 sessions/136 villages/3,248 listeners.

The provincial Border Guard has proactively grasped the situation; regularly inspected and urged units to be ready for combat; and synchronously deployed measures to manage and protect the border and border gates. Units have thoroughly implemented plans for civil defense, natural disaster response, search and rescue, fire and explosion prevention and control; and organized training according to the 2024 training plan.

In the last 6 months of the year, the provincial Border Guard continued to synchronously deploy border protection measures, proactively grasp and closely forecast the situation, promptly handle incidents to ensure safety, in accordance with regulations; closely coordinate with local forces and authorities to promptly propose measures and plans to handle situations caused by fire, natural disasters and search and rescue, not to be passive, ensuring safety in all aspects. Along with that, continue to improve the quality of combat training, build disciplined units, manage and educate to comply with discipline, and ensure safety.

Regarding the implementation of Resolution No. 689 of the Central Military Commission, after 10 years, under the leadership and direction of the Party Committee, the Border Guard Command, directly the Provincial Party Committee, the Party Committee, the Border Guard Command of Lao Cai province has thoroughly grasped and seriously implemented, closely coordinated with departments, branches, localities, and units to lead and direct units to perform well the tasks of preventing and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, rescue and relief, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality. Border posts on the border mobilized thousands of officers and soldiers together with localities to participate in helping people overcome the consequences of natural disasters such as storms, tornadoes, flash floods, landslides, evacuating hundreds of houses at risk of landslides to safe places; organizing drills on plans to prevent and combat natural disasters, fires, explosions, and forest fires.
