"So that when you come to the contest and appear before the judges and organizers, you are ready to show that you are the girl they are looking for," the beauty shared.

For H'Hen Niê, a girl's success in the international arena lies in both her qualities and strengths, as well as the support and companionship of the national copyright organization. "Competing internationally is a strategic matter and requires serious investment if you want to achieve a high position. When participating in Miss Universe 2018, I saw the meticulous and methodical preparation of the contestants and their organizations, everyone coordinated smoothly and was ready to support when needed," the beauty said. She also assessed that in Vietnam today, companies and units in the beauty industry have begun to invest more professionally, and this is a positive sign.

Miss Phuong Khanh believes that good communication skills and fluent use of foreign languages ​​help contestants convey their words and thoughts to others. According to her, effective communication is also a bridge for the organizers to understand each representative, and at the same time, it is a way to promote the country and people of Vietnam to international friends. Meanwhile, H'Hen Nie said: "Equally important is thinking and how you share your views, express yourself, and connect with people."

Comprehensive upgrade of beauty pageant candidates

According to Master Pham Kim Dung, representative of the unit holding the copyright of 3 Big6 contests (Miss World, Miss International and Miss Grand International) in Vietnam, finding a girl who meets the criteria to win in the international arena is not simple.

From her 7 years of experience in bringing Vietnamese beauties to compete in the world's top beauty contests and helping her "homegrown" win 2 Big6 crowns, Ms. Dung assessed: "We have almost fully grasped the criteria of the contests. However, the problem is whether we are lucky enough to find a domestic contestant who really comes close to those criteria or not."

Ms. Kim Dung shared that the process of creating an international beauty queen requires internal factors combined with a journey of self-improvement and upgrading through the efforts of the beauty queen herself and the management company. The "beauty queen boss" used Thanh Thuy's victory as an example. "We choose people who meet the criteria of Miss International to cultivate and train from catwalk, interview, makeup skills... All of those are short-term preparations before the contest, very easy to do and very easy to invest in. But the process of how to comprehensively upgrade the candidate is a long-term process. We have prepared very well for the long-term and short-term work and in the end, Thanh Thuy has done very well all the things that the contest organizers expected in addition to what she already has," she analyzed.

In reality, a major international beauty contest is a place where strong candidates from many countries and territories gather. Therefore, whether a beauty wins depends not only on her talent or on meeting the criteria, but also on “luck”.

From her experience, Ms. Pham Kim Dung shared: “There are years when our candidates are strong, but candidates from other countries are stronger.
