Returning to Vietnam after being crowned Miss International 2024 in Japan, Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy received the attention of the beauty-loving community. During a meeting and exchange with the audience and media in Hanoi on the afternoon of November 19, the beauty born in 2002 openly shared about her journey to compete in Miss International 2024 and her future plans.

In the moment of being crowned Miss International, what did Miss Thanh Thuy think about?
- In the moment of coronation, I thought about the journey I had gone through when I always tried, made an effort and received support from everyone. So no matter what the result is, I will always be proud and satisfied with my journey at Miss International 2024. I always believe that everyone will always love me. Those emotions of mine were sublimated when I became the new Miss International 2024 and those were wonderful moments in my life.

As a beauty in the Top 8, she gave short, concise answers to score points with the judges and the Miss International Organizing Committee. How did Miss Thanh Thuy prepare for this "difficult" competition?
- When I came to the behavioral round at Miss International 2024, I received a question about education. The answer for this part of the competition was prepared quite carefully before participating in the competition in Japan, because the Miss International organization cares about education, especially the criteria towards sustainable development (SDGs).
Therefore, I researched information in this field to have enough knowledge for myself when entering the behavioral test. In this test, candidates need to answer within 30 seconds, so I had to give the shortest and most concise answer possible.
Among the Vietnamese representatives participating in international beauty contests, who motivates and inspires Miss Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy?
- I always remember the previous Misses who brought many achievements and glory to Vietnam in beauty contests. They are the ones who inspire me such as: Miss Luong Thuy Linh - Top 12 Miss World 2019, Miss Do Thi Ha - Top 13 Miss World 2021, Miss Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien - Miss Grand International 2021...
Most recently, the beautiful and talented runner-up Ngoc Hang won the 2nd runner-up title of Miss Intercontinental 2023. Runner-up Ngoc Hang also passed on to me her experiences so that I could "fight" at the Miss International 2024 contest. Those Misses and Runner-ups are the people I always learn from and follow their examples so that I can try and make an effort to bring home the first Miss International crown for Vietnam.
When crowned Miss International 2024 at the age of 22, does Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy think she should change anything to suit this title?
- Even though I became Miss International, I still kept my innocence and carefree attitude. I think I will express my personality and character as it is, without creating any pressure. I think sincerity will make people trust and love me more.
Although innocent and carefree, I do not forget the mission and duty of Miss Vietnam 2022 and Miss International 2024.

Possessing two crowns of Miss Vietnam and Miss International, what pressures does Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy face?
- When I was crowned Miss Vietnam and Miss International, my responsibilities were greater and the pressure was also greater. However, if I kept suppressing my emotions and youthfulness with pressure, I think I wouldn't be able to do well. Those pressures are also the motivation for me to improve and develop more.
With the mission of a Miss International, I think I will contribute to creating values in the future, at the same time creating values for myself and my family, so I enjoy those things.

How has participating in domestic and international beauty contests changed Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy? Have you ever thought that your position is "faded", "shaken" or less noticed because there are so many beauty contests held in Vietnam today?
- If you pay attention, you will see that the competitions I have participated in have gradually become larger in scale ( laughs). First, I participated in the Miss Student Contest of the University of Foreign Languages (University of Danang) in 2021, Miss Elegant Student Contest of Danang, Miss Vietnam 2022 and Miss International 2024.
I think that achieving a certain position will motivate me to reach greater positions. That is also the motivation for me to have a love for beauty pageants and to participate in domestic and international beauty contests.
Nowadays, when there are many beauty pageants in Vietnam, I think that is also a way to promote the beauty of Vietnamese girls to international friends. Because when I asked the contestants about the image and beauty of Vietnamese girls in their eyes, the answer I received was: "Vietnam is a strong market with many beauty pageants. Vietnamese girls are no joke, it is difficult to win against Vietnamese girls". The contestants joked with each other that they should be "wary" of Thanh Thuy - the representative of Vietnam (laughs).
I think that even though there are many beauty contests nowadays, my position in the public's heart is not affected. Because I express myself in my own way, being myself in every activity.

According to Miss Thanh Thuy, what changes do beauty contests in Vietnam need to make if they want Vietnamese representatives to achieve high rankings when competing in international beauty contests?
- I think the judges at the Miss Vietnam pageant are fair and have foresight to choose the right Miss to be crowned. If I had to change anything, I think we need more time to improve the knowledge and skills of the Miss Vietnam pageant winners so that they are strong and confident enough to "fight" in international beauty pageants.
What "implicit" commitment did the Miss International organization make to you after you were crowned?
- When I was crowned Miss International, what the organization wanted from me was to maintain my honor and prestige. The two pageants Miss Vietnam and Miss International are both prestigious and reputable pageants in Vietnam and the world, so I need to inspire young people, contribute to cultural exchange between Vietnam and Japan, and connect cultures between countries.

Miss Thanh Thuy has any "secrets" or advice for girls who intend to participate in beauty contests?
- I think not only beauty contests, young people who want to participate in any contest need to do their own ideological work. That is to believe in themselves, believe in what they will do because that will bring confidence. I think the basis for young people to believe in themselves is to look back at their strengths, that is the "key" to help them have enough energy and confidence when standing on stage.
For me, when I stepped onto the stage at Miss International, I thought I could do it, I would shine, I would be the star on this stage. I thought so, so during all the competitions within the framework of the Miss International contest, I was not nervous at all. I am always proud to stand on the Miss International stage as a Miss Vietnam.

What are the future plans of Miss International 2024 Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy?
- In the future, I will continue my parallel journey as both Miss Vietnam and Miss International. I will have missions and projects for the community as well as create other projects related to cultural exchange between Vietnam and Japan such as supporting workers and international students studying and working in Japan...
Every milestone in my life has its own focus and goals. After I join the Miss International pageant and complete my mission in this pageant, I will continue my studies and spend time with my family.
Will Miss Thanh Thuy continue to "conquer" other beauty contests after being crowned Miss International 2024?
- Although I am passionate about beauty pageants, I think to preserve the sacredness and pride of Miss Vietnam and Miss International, I will not participate in any more beauty pageants.
