Dong Thap Muoi Ecological Reserve (Tien Giang province) with its unique wild nature has received local attention for infrastructure investment and calling for businesses to invest in order to turn this place into a place for developing tourism services.
Dong Thap Muoi Ecological Reserve (Tan Phuoc district, Tien Giang province) was established in 2000, with an area of 106.8 hectares of cajuput forest with the task of collecting and conserving typical flora and fauna of Dong Thap Muoi region. This place is organized to research, manage, protect, conserve, and restore the ecosystem of typical flooded mangrove forests, forest habitats, valuable genetic resources of animals and plants, and to protect and multiply the number of rare and endangered species. Over the past 24 years since its establishment, Dong Thap Muoi Ecological Reserve has gathered over 12,000 birds and storks. Among them, there are many species listed in the Vietnam and World Red Book such as: Can duoc, giang sen, gia day... In addition, it has also gathered 6,030 native trees, mammals, reptiles and birds and animals typical of Dong Thap Muoi region. Coming to Dong Thap Muoi Ecological Reserve (Tan Phuoc District, Tien Giang Province), visitors are not only attracted by the natural space with shady cajuput forests on both sides, but also have close contact with a series of rare waterfowl and wild animals. Mr. Tran Hoang Phong - Chairman of Tan Phuoc District People's Committee - said that currently, there is one enterprise investing and operating tourism in Dong Thap Muoi Ecological Reserve. In addition, the province has allocated capital to invest in works and projects in Tan Phuoc District, including the Dong Thap Muoi Road Project Phase 1. Currently, the functional agencies of Tan Phuoc District are urgently coordinating with relevant units to carry out site clearance work to hand over to the investor for construction of the above project. “Tan Phuoc has many locations to develop eco-tourism and spiritual tourism. The province’s investment in resources in the fields of transportation and tourism will be a driving force to help the locality develop its socio-economy. Currently, Tan Phuoc district is continuing to coordinate with the province’s functional agencies to create a chain of links to develop local tourism. In addition, the district also calls on investors and businesses to pay attention and invest in the locality,” Mr. Phong shared.
