Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Border Closed More Than 2 Months Ahead of Schedule

The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project across the Tien River connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces has so far achieved over 79% progress. The contractor is striving to open it to traffic and put it into operation on September 2 this year.

On February 17, the joint venture of contractors Trung Nam E&C - Trung Chinh - Dat Phuong - Bac Trung Nam poured the last batches of concrete, completing the border closing stage of spans P18-P19, P20-P201 of Rach Mieu 2 bridge. Thus, the time has been shortened by more than two months, the April 30 plan.

Along with that, the joint venture contractor strives to complete the mid-span closing on April 30, instead of having to do it in August as planned. At the same time, they also strive to complete and put Rach Mieu 2 Bridge into operation on the occasion of September 2 this year.

According to My Thuan Project Management Board, up to now, the progress of Rach Mieu 2 bridge project has reached over 79%, exceeding the plan by more than 4%.

The contractor focuses on technical staff and skilled workers to complete the construction on schedule.

Of which, the road section under construction on the entire route is about 14km, striving to complete the entire route (including roads and bridges on the route) on the Ben Tre side by June 30.

The contractor has completed 4 bridges (Xoai Hot, My Tho, Tam Son, Ba Lai), and 2 bridges are under urgent construction (Rach Mieu 2 main bridge, Song Ma bridge).

To complete the project on schedule, contractors are implementing construction in "3 shifts, 4 teams", with 30 teams, nearly 600 technical staff, workers, and over 150 pieces of equipment on site.

The joint venture of contractors Trung Nam E&C - Trung Chinh - Dat Phuong - Bac Trung Nam has completed the border closing preparation work.

Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project started construction at the end of March 2022, with a total investment of over 6,800 billion VND.

The project starts at Dong Tam intersection (intersection between National Highway 1 and Provincial Road 870) in Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province.

The end point is at Km16+660 of National Highway 60, about 0.71km from the northern abutment of Ham Luong Bridge, in Ben Tre City, Ben Tre Province.
