Dak Lak promotes foreign affairs activities in the locality

On the morning of October 24, the Department of Foreign Affairs organized a dialogue between the Department of Foreign Affairs and agencies and organizations participating in foreign affairs of Dak Lak province with the theme "Promoting foreign affairs activities in the locality".

In the first 9 months of 2024, foreign affairs work in the area took place according to the province's plan and orientation, contributing to promoting the pioneering role of foreign affairs in serving the sustainable development of the locality.

Accordingly, economic diplomacy focusing on serving development, taking people and businesses as the center of service has continued to receive attention and proactive implementation from sectors and localities in the province, and the response and participation of most businesses in the province. The province has successfully organized the Business and Investment Conference between India and the Central Highlands provinces, supported 01 enterprise to officially export the first batch of banana products to the Mongolian market; provided information on economic events for agencies, units and businesses in the province to participate in order to seek opportunities to expand business.

Local international relations are increasingly expanding and developing more substantially. In addition to maintaining traditional relations with localities in Laos and Cambodia, the province has developed good relations with Jeollabuk Province (South Korea), Orkhon Province (Mongolia) and is currently promoting the expansion of relations with localities in France, India and Japan. Through local cooperation, the province has facilitated the Ea Sup District People's Committee to continue to deploy seasonal labor dispatch activities in agriculture with South Korea, bringing economic efficiency and social security.

Mobilizing non-official development assistance (NGO) aid exceeded the 2024 plan. To date, the Provincial People's Committee has approved the receipt of 13 aid packages with a total value of more than 1.675 million USD. The province currently has 34 aid packages with a total committed value of 7.899 million USD being implemented, focusing on the fields and areas that the province prioritizes to call for.

Local promotion work is focused on by taking advantage of the activities of 6 foreign press agencies to report on the province's key agricultural products; introducing the province in publications published abroad. The province has sent 03 provincial-level delegations led by the provincial People's Committee leaders and 04 department-level delegations to visit and work in Laos, Cambodia, Korea, Mongolia and China to promote investment, tourism, trade and agriculture.

Representative of Dak Lak 2/9 Import Export One Member Co., Ltd. participated in the discussion at the dialogue.

The delegations are strictly managed in accordance with regulations, contributing to maintaining security and order in the province. During the period, the province welcomed 12 foreign diplomatic delegations and 02 local delegations; processed procedures for 241 other delegations with 684 people coming to work in the province....

At the dialogue, delegates focused on discussing and listening to the leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs answer questions such as: experience in sending workers to work abroad under labor contracts in Ea Sup district; the implementation of activities and aid of foreign non-governmental organizations in Krong Bong district; regulations on annual overseas business trips of officials under the management of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee; procedures for delegations entering for Vietnamese people from foreign non-governmental organizations to work in the province; regulations on receiving gifts from cases of overseas Vietnamese or foreigners giving gifts (money, small-value items) to households in difficult circumstances on the occasion of visiting their homeland or holidays; procedures for signing aid agreements between foreign non-governmental organizations and the recipients, etc.

Speaking at the dialogue, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs Pham Van Phuoc emphasized that the contents of sharing, exchanging and answering questions about management regulations as well as experiences in implementing foreign affairs activities will be a useful foundation to help agencies, organizations and localities continue to participate more actively, proactively and boldly in the international integration process, contributing to promoting local foreign affairs in the coming time.

Comrade Pham Van Phuoc affirmed that the Department of Foreign Affairs is always ready to support and accompany agencies, organizations and enterprises in the process of implementing cooperation activities. The Department of Foreign Affairs will report the results of the dialogue to the Provincial People's Committee to promptly direct the implementation of contents under its authority, and at the same time advise the Provincial People's Committee to recommend to central agencies to continue researching and perfecting regulations on foreign affairs to ensure completeness, synchronization, unity and high feasibility in organization and implementation.
