Diversified sources of international cruise ship passengers

Increasing the attraction of international cruise tourists is one of the orientations that Quang Ninh is actively implementing, because this is a type of tourist with high spending ability when coming to the destinations. Quang Ninh also determines to diversify the sources of cruise tourists from many countries and territories, thereby contributing to the overall number of international visitors to Quang Ninh, as well as the growth of the tourism industry.

Recently, the international cruise ship Silver Whisper docked at Ha Long International Cruise Port, bringing 300 European and American tourists to visit and experience the destinations, landscapes and culture in Ha Long City. This is the third time the Silver Whisper has returned to Ha Long since the beginning of the year, demonstrating the attractiveness of Quang Ninh to international tourists.

Previously, two luxury cruise ships Seabourn Encore and Silver Whisper, both of Bahamas nationality, docked at Ha Long International Passenger Port, bringing more than 1,200 passengers to Quang Ninh. After docking, tourists participated in tours to explore Ha Long Bay, visit the city, and visit some cultural and historical relics of Ha Long and neighboring localities. Many tourists enjoyed tourism activities on Ha Long Bay such as: visiting caves, kayaking, swimming, etc.

With a diverse, synchronous and modern transport infrastructure, including air routes, sea routes, inter-provincial expressways, especially Ha Long International Passenger Port, Quang Ninh has the advantage of welcoming international cruise ships to Ha Long. The proof is that from the beginning of 2025 until now, Quang Ninh has welcomed over 20 international cruise ships, carrying over 26 thousand international tourists from many markets in Europe, America, Australia, Northeast Asia..., to visit and relax at the unique destinations of Ha Long - Quang Ninh. International tourists are all satisfied with the experiences and high-class services in the province.

Ha Long - Quang Ninh is a favorite destination for cruise tourists.

Quang Ninh Tourism Department has identified attracting international visitors, especially cruise tourists, as one of the key tasks. In particular, the province has directed relevant departments, sectors and localities to promote tourism, develop new products suitable to tourists' tastes, especially diversifying international visitors, especially from Asia.

According to information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, on April 30, the Pacific World cruise ship managed and operated by Peace Boat (Japan) is expected to bring about 1,600 tourists, mainly Japanese tourists, to Quang Ninh.

During the voyage, Ha Long International Passenger Port was the first port the ship docked after departing from Japan. This was also the first time Quang Ninh province welcomed a cruise ship in the form of a charter (chartering the entire voyage) bringing tourists from Japan to Ha Long, opening up opportunities to promote cruise tourism routes connecting Japanese ports with Quang Ninh. Quang Ninh plans to organize a program to welcome the delegation to Ha Long such as: dragon and unicorn dance performances, giving flowers to tourists, demonstrating the friendliness and hospitality of the destination.

This is a positive signal for Quang Ninh tourism from the land of the rising sun, because Japan is identified as one of the key international tourist markets of Quang Ninh tourism.

It is expected that in 2025, Quang Ninh will have about 70 cruise ships, with nearly 90,000 international tourists. In addition to the luxury cruise ships that have come to Ha Long such as: Celebrity Solstice, Mein Schiff 6, Westerdam ..., this year there will be many new cruise ships such as: Brilliant Lady, Luminara, Pacific World ... planning to bring tourists to Ha Long - Quang Ninh. Especially around November 2025, there are expected to be 3 Beihai (China) cruise ships coming to Ha Long every week.

This year, Quang Ninh strives to attract 20 million visitors, including 4.5 million international visitors. With positive signals from international cruise tourism, along with increased promotion, advertising, and attracting diverse sources of visitors from many countries, Quang Ninh will complete the goals set for the tourism industry.
