(Baoquangngai.vn)- According to the central government's roadmap, before May 1, 2025, the Project to merge and consolidate Kon Tum and Quang Ngai provinces must be completed and reported to the central government for approval by competent authorities.

As reported by Quang Ngai e-newspaper, on the morning of April 15, in Kon Plong district (Kon Tum), the Standing Committee of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee had a working session with the Standing Committee of Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee to deploy a number of contents related to the merger of provincial-level administrative units under the direction of the central government.

At the conference, the Standing Committees of the Provincial Party Committees of Quang Ngai and Kon Tum provinces discussed and agreed to establish 6 joint working groups between the two provinces to implement the contents and tasks assigned by the central government regarding the merger of the two provinces. These are the Working Group on Congress Documents; Working Group on Administrative Units; Working Group on Organization, Apparatus, and Staffing; Working Group on Cadres; Working Group on Local Policies; Working Group on Finance, Budget, Headquarters, and Public Assets. At the same time, assign cadres to act as focal points for coordination between the respective agencies of the two provinces to facilitate the exchange and resolution of work related to the arrangement.

The two provinces basically agreed on the first draft of the Project to merge Kon Tum and Quang Ngai provinces; agreed on the Plan for coordination in implementing related tasks to merge Kon Tum and Quang Ngai provinces. In particular, carefully consider the specific factors of historical traditions, culture, ethnicity, religion, beliefs, customs, practices, geographical location, natural conditions, residential communities, requirements to ensure national defense, security, economic and social development, sustainable poverty reduction; on specific mechanisms and policies between the two provinces; on the operation of the political system after the merger. Agree on the schedule and meeting place to resolve work of the two Provincial Party Standing Committees from now until September 1, 2025, with a frequency of 3 weeks/1 time and can be extraordinary when needed.

In the coming time, there is a lot of work to be done, the two sides need to agree on the time, form of exchange, and coordinate to synchronously perform tasks, in order to create the highest unity when implementing the project to merge the two provinces.

Comrade Duong Van Trang suggested that after the merger, when there is a new apparatus, Quang Ngai province needs to study after September 1, 2025, the apparatus will operate the fastest and most effectively. At the same time, it is recommended that Quang Ngai province study to set up a Standing Department in Kon Tum city after September 1, 2025 for cadres and leaders working in border communes. Pay attention to and create favorable conditions for accommodation and travel for the team of cadres of Kon Tum province when they move to Quang Ngai city to work so that cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers can work with peace of mind.

According to the central roadmap, before May 1, 2025, the Project to merge and merge Kon Tum province and Quang Ngai province must be completed and reported to the central government for submission to competent authorities for approval.

Currently, Quang Ngai has drafted a merger project from the perspective of government agencies and basically prepared a plan to arrange public housing and means of transportation to ensure the service of officials and civil servants of Kon Tum province after the merger. The province has also proactively reviewed and repaired working offices and agencies, public housing, etc. to arrange accommodation for officials and civil servants of Kon Tum province who need accommodation.

Especially in the recent period, at the scale of each department, branch and locality, there have been exchanges and sharing with each other in many aspects.

Comrade Bui Thi Quynh Van affirmed that, with its responsibility, the Standing Committee of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee fully accepted the comments of the Secretary of Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee and the leaders of Kon Tum province at the working session to soon complete the Project, ensuring the requirements on quality and time in accordance with central regulations.
