Recently, the situation of impersonating hospital brands to commit fraud has been very common with increasingly sophisticated tricks. In Vinh Phuc, recently there has been a situation of impersonating the Fanpage of the Provincial General Hospital to fraudulently call for charity.
According to the leader of the Provincial General Hospital, on the morning of April 10, the Hospital discovered a fake Facebook account impersonating the Hospital's name and image, posting information and images of critically ill patients and people in difficult circumstances and providing bank account numbers to call for donations and charity for profit, affecting the reputation and image of the hospital. Immediately after discovering the incident, the Hospital posted a warning notice about fraud on the hospital's official Fanpage and widely informed people not to transfer money to accounts on the fake page.
To support patients, the Provincial General Hospital has effectively implemented social work connecting donors and benefactors with patients. However, up to now, the Hospital has not called for charity on Fanpage and has not provided account numbers on social network Fanpage.
Currently, fraud on social networks is very common, especially cases of using images of sick people and people in difficult circumstances to call for charity for profit. Therefore, in order to avoid becoming victims of being exploited, people should not donate to charity without verifying the information and whether the organization calling for it is accurate or not. Fraudulent bank accounts can be registered to impersonate agencies, organizations, or have similar names that cause confusion, so people need to be vigilant and verify through other sources before transferring money.
