Opening of the Southern Traditional Cake Festival combined with the Trade Promotion Fair, OCOP products and regional specialties of Vinh Long province

On the evening of April 15, the Department of Industry and Trade held the opening ceremony of the Southern Traditional Cake Festival combined with the Trade Promotion Fair, OCOP products and regional specialties of Vinh Long province in 2025.

This is one of the activities in a series of special cultural, sports and tourism events of the province, in response to the activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification, associated with the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Vinh Long province (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and International Labor Day May 1.

The fair takes place from April 15-21, with about 300 participating units with over 450 booths, advertising, serving folk cuisine , displaying regional specialties, typical rural industrial products, OCOP products, consumer goods, handicrafts, garments, food and foodstuffs...

The booths at the fair are attractively presented. This is an opportunity for units to promote their products.

The festival attracts a large number of visitors to visit and shop.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Liet, said: The fair is an effective bridge, an important trade promotion channel, creating opportunities for units to exchange and promote the economic and service potential of the locality. At the same time, it creates conditions for manufacturers and suppliers to access and grasp the tastes of consumers, seek cooperation partners and customers, establish distribution channels, develop stable and sustainable product consumption markets, improve the efficiency of the rural economy and contribute to improving the lives of local people.

Besides, visitors have the opportunity to experience many attractive flavors in Southern culinary culture, especially traditional cakes, bringing back childhood memories, living in a nostalgic space of Southern cuisine, and learning about traditional national culture.
