Meeting with veteran revolutionary cadres, meritorious people, and typical policy families

Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary To Lam expressed his gratitude for the great contributions of the people and the people's armed forces to the Party's revolutionary cause in the cause of completely liberating the South, reunifying the country as well as in the cause of building, constructing and defending the Fatherland.

Over the past 50 years, the historic days of April have been an opportunity to review the glorious and heroic tradition of the resistance war against the US to save the country, the talented leadership of the Party, of the great President Ho Chi Minh, the bravery, resilience, indomitability, and great sacrifices of the entire nation for the goal of national unification.

Informing about the country's situation, the policies and strategic orientations that our Party has outlined in the era of building a strong socialist Vietnam, on par with the world powers, the General Secretary said that the Central Committee has identified three key tasks that need to be focused on from now until 2030 and 2045: maintaining and preserving a peaceful, secure and orderly environment for national development; developing the economy and society rapidly and sustainably; improving the lives of the people, especially the workers.

In the process of implementing the goals, the country has encountered and is facing difficulties beyond expectations. However, thanks to the political courage, solidarity and unity of the Central Executive Committee, the efforts of Party members and cadres, and the support of the people, the goals set out in the Resolution of the 13th National Congress have been basically completed, creating conditions for completion and over-fulfillment before entering the 14th National Party Congress.

The draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress have been basically completed and will be sent to party organizations for comments, then the opinions of all walks of life will be sought.

The General Secretary affirmed that the 11th Central Conference of the 13th tenure is considered a historic conference in the revolutionary journey of our country. The Central Executive Committee highly agreed on the contents related to the arrangement of the apparatus of the political system; the arrangement of administrative units and the organization of 2-level local governments with a long-term vision, at least 100 years, ensuring the formation and expansion of new economic, social and cultural development space suitable for the development and integration of the country, strengthening the potential of national defense, security and foreign affairs.

In terms of foreign affairs, since the beginning of 2025, Vietnam has become the focus of world attention when it advocated a drastic reform of the organizational apparatus; rearranged administrative units; applied many flexible and creative measures to handle economic, financial issues, and investment cooperation with foreign partners. Vietnam has affirmed a new height and a new position on the world political map.

Regarding future development orientations, the General Secretary emphasized that in the current context, ensuring a peaceful, stable, secure and safe environment for national construction and development is extremely necessary. In addition to economic independence and stability, we must build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern armed force to ensure combat and victory in all forms of war, especially high-tech warfare.

The Ministry of National Defense is restructuring its units to suit the new administrative organization model with the goal of ensuring a solid national defense posture, ensuring combat and victory in all war situations, and being a solid support for governments at all levels and the people.

After three reorganizations, the People's Public Security force has been significantly streamlined, operating effectively and efficiently, ensuring political security, social order and safety, contributing to strategic advisory tasks and socio-economic development.

Regarding socio-economic development, the General Secretary said that the Politburo will soon issue a resolution on the private economy, creating conditions for the private economy to participate more deeply in the country's economy.

The Government Party Committee is coordinating with the National Assembly Party Committee to institutionalize Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation and issue guiding documents so that the new regulations can soon be put into practice.

The General Secretary stated that the fight against corruption, waste and negativity will continue to be carried out with determination and resoluteness, without exception, especially in the process of organizing party congresses at all levels, restructuring the administrative system, and relocating agency headquarters...

In the coming time, there needs to be a nationwide movement to practice thrift and fight waste in the lives of every family and every citizen because waste in society is still very large. People need to participate more strongly in the task of preventing corruption, waste and negativity.

The General Secretary also emphasized the task of continuing to innovate the Party's leadership methods, especially innovating the way of issuing and organizing the implementation of resolutions in a concise, easy-to-understand, easy-to-remember, easy-to-implement manner; correctly and accurately identifying the requirements, tasks, and development paths of the country, each locality, ministry, and sector. Strongly reforming processes and policies to meet development requirements; promoting decentralization and delegation of power, ensuring that the Central Government strengthens macro-management, plays a constructive and developmental role, and gives more autonomy and initiative to all levels of government.

Local recommendations and proposals must be seriously, promptly, responsibly considered by the Central Government and must be responded to decisively, within the prescribed time, clearly...

On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam presented the 80-year Party membership badge early to comrade Dang Quan Thuy, former member of the Party Central Committee and former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly. Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia presented the 50-year Party membership badge to comrade Bui Thanh Quyen, former member of the Party Central Committee and former Secretary of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee and comrade Ha Van Khoat, former Secretary of the Bac Kan Provincial Party Committee.
