The female artist explained: “At first, I had no intention of playing the role of the Four Guardians , but Tran Thanh wanted me to appear. Because Thanh said that a Tran Thanh film would not be possible without Ngoc Giau. So I participated in a small segment of the film.”
Although her health is still good and she is still confident in her singing voice, due to degenerative problems, People's Artist Ngoc Giau has difficulty walking. This is also the reason why the once-famous singer of the Cai Luong stage appears less often than before. She confided: "My legs hurt so it's hard to move. I feel so sorry for Tran Thanh and Ngoc Huyen that I agreed to participate. But when I go to the set, I have to rely on the crew to guide me, I feel so sorry for them."

Once a “pervasive stage presence”, now rarely appearing, People’s Artist Ngoc Giau cannot help but miss her job. She said that at home she still occasionally sings to relieve stress. The 4X singer confided: “I can still sing. But unfortunately, my legs hurt and my joints are degenerative, so I can’t stand and perform. I also have regular health check-ups, exercise, and undergo physical therapy. But it’s hard to get rid of old age-related illnesses.”
This year, People's Artist Ngoc Giau will mainly celebrate Tet in Ho Chi Minh City, with her partner. At the age of 80, the female artist has concerns for the cai luong stage. She confided: "The young people today sing very well, but I feel sorry for them because they lack good scripts. When they sing classic plays, they are compared to veteran artists."
