On March 16, speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Tran Ngoc Nhung - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province - said that the weekend gong program will soon resume after a period of interruption.

According to Mr. Nhung, the department is rebuilding the program plan and making preparations, and will resume the program in a few weeks.

This year, in addition to weekly performances in Pleiku City, the Gia Lai provincial cultural sector also plans to bring the weekend gong program to perform in the districts.

Regarding the program's recent interruption, Mr. Nhung said the problem was due to the lack of budget allocation because the Provincial People's Committee did not have a plan.

The agency is currently actively preparing to resume the program as soon as possible.

Previously, as Tuoi Tre Online reported, after a period of operation, the weekend gong performance program in Pleiku City had to be interrupted due to funding problems.

The weekend gong program has been approved by the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee to become a regular cultural event. Creating an attraction, introducing and promoting Gia Lai gong culture.

Gong performances are held every Saturday evening at Dai Doan Ket Square, Pleiku City.

The program belongs to the project of Preserving and promoting the value of the heritage of the Central Highlands gong cultural space in Gia Lai province in the period of 2023 - 2025, guaranteed by the state budget and other legally mobilized sources from 2023.
