(Dan Tri) - A fire recently broke out in Kbang district, Gia Lai province, causing damage to nearly 7 hectares of sugarcane of many households.


On March 8, the People's Committee of Nghia An commune, Kbang district, Gia Lai province said that it is coordinating with authorities to investigate the cause of the fire that burned nearly 7 hectares of sugarcane of many households.

Previously, at around 2:00 p.m. on March 6, the People's Committee of Nghia An commune received news that sugarcane fields of many people in Hamlet 3, Nghia An commune were on fire. After that, the commune mobilized forces and households to use water pumps to put out the fire.

Seeing the big fire, many people who were cutting sugarcane nearby also came to help build a firebreak to prevent the fire from spreading. By 4:00 p.m. the same day, the fire was extinguished.

According to statistics, nearly 7 hectares of sugarcane of 7 adjacent households were burned. All the burnt sugarcane areas were ready for harvest.

According to An Khe Sugar Factory, due to the large area of ​​burnt sugarcane, the factory mobilized manpower and machinery to speed up the harvest for the people. By the end of March 7, all the burnt sugarcane had been harvested.

Authorities are working to investigate the cause of the fire.
