The Northern Delta Hydrometeorological Station forecasts that tonight (June 15), Hanoi will be cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms; cool weather, with common temperatures of 26-28 degrees Celsius.
Tomorrow (June 16), Hanoi will not have rain, the intensity of sunlight will increase at noon and in the afternoon, the highest temperature in the central and western areas of the city will be 33-35 degrees Celsius, in the North and South will be 32-34 degrees Celsius...
Due to the low pressure area in the West tending to develop and expand to the Southeast, from June 17 to 22, Hanoi will be hot, extremely hot. The highest temperature on June 17 and 18 is 36-37 degrees Celsius; from June 19 to 21 is 37-38 degrees Celsius... After that time, Hanoi will have rain, moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms in some places, and the temperature will gradually decrease.
According to Nguyen Van Hiep, Deputy Director of the Northern Delta Hydrometeorological Station, the El Nino phenomenon (warm phase) will continue to develop from June until the end of 2023 and last until 2024 with a probability of about 80-90%. Therefore, from July to September, there will be about 6-8 heat waves nationwide; of which 3-4 severe heat waves (lasting 2 days or more) will affect Hanoi city.
The average temperature in the next 3 months in Hanoi will continue to be 0.5 to 1 degree Celsius higher than the average of many years. Specifically, in the central area of Hanoi, the average temperature in July is 29.5-30.5 degrees Celsius, in August is 29-30 degrees Celsius and in September is 27.5-28.5 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the average temperature in May is 29.5 degrees Celsius and is forecasted to be 29-30 degrees Celsius in June.
Since the beginning of summer, Hanoi has experienced three heat waves. The first wave occurred from May 5 to 7, with the highest temperature in Hanoi generally being 39-40 degrees Celsius, higher in some places such as Hoai Duc at 40.2 degrees Celsius, Lang at 40.1 degrees Celsius. The second wave was from May 16 to 23; the highest temperature was generally 39-41 degrees Celsius, higher in some places such as Ha Dong at 41.3 degrees Celsius. The third wave occurred from May 29 to 31, with the highest temperature being 36-37.5 degrees Celsius, higher in some places such as Lang and Ba Vi at 37.5 degrees Celsius...
