Electricity stocks “light up”, VN-Index increases nearly 7 points in session on November 25

Green continued to dominate the market on November 25. However, trading was still slow. Energy stocks were a big bright spot in the market.

At the end of the week from November 18-22, VN-Index increased by 0.78% to 1,228.10 points. Liquidity recovered poorly as volume decreased by 17% on HoSE. At the beginning of the new week, green dominated many stock groups. This helped pull the indices above the reference level. However, trading was generally cautious and liquidity did not improve. The indices maintained green throughout the morning session despite occasional increases in supply.

The afternoon session continued with the above scenario. The indices maintained a good green color but trading was only moderate. The supply pressure today was not too strong but the demand was also weak, which caused the market to fall into a "sleepy" state. The market still lacked a leading flow so the recovery momentum was not really strong. Foreign investors continued to trade weaker than usual. Thanks to that, the pressure on foreign investors was no longer too great.

At the end of the trading session, VN-Index increased by 6.6 points (0.54%) to 1,234.7 points. HNX-Index increased by 0.96 points (0.43%) to 222.25 points. UPCoM-Index increased by 0.12 points (0.13%) to 91.82 points.

The entire market recorded 423 stocks increasing in price, while only 288 stocks decreased and 870 stocks remained unchanged or not traded. The number of stocks increasing to the ceiling was 15 while 14 stocks decreased to the floor.

Top 10 stocks strongly impacting VN-Index

The focus of the market today was on energy stocks. In particular, PVPower (POW) stock jumped sharply from the beginning of the session and closed at the ceiling price of VND12,150/share. POW stock exploded after signing a cooperation agreement with Vingroup to develop a nationwide electric vehicle charging station system and promote the use of renewable energy through rooftop solar power systems. Many other power stocks also shined. REE increased by 3.4%, KHP was also pulled up to the ceiling price, NT2 increased by nearly 2.4%.

The group of large stocks recorded significant positivity when in the VN30 "basket" there were 18 stocks increasing, while only 5 stocks decreased in price. Stocks such as VHM, MSN, VIB, VIC... increased in price well and contributed to consolidating the green color of VN-Index. VHM increased by more than 2.6% and contributed 1.16 points to VN-Index. VCB also contributed 0.94 points when increasing by 0.77%. MSN also increased by 1.7% today.

Banking stocks were relatively strongly differentiated in today's session, with VIB increasing well by 1.65%, STB increasing by 0.61%, CTG increasing by 0.29%... On the other hand, BID closed the session in red with a decrease of 0.33%. In addition, SSB, MBB and ACB all decreased in price but the level was not strong.

Oil stocks also had a positive session today when PVS increased sharply by 2.7%, PVD increased by 1.5%, BSR increased by 1%, and PLX also increased by 0.6%.

Total trading volume on HoSE today was VND498 billion, equivalent to a trading value of VND11,954 billion, down 6% compared to the session at the end of last week. Of which, negotiated transactions contributed more than VND2,694 billion on HoSE. Trading values on HNX and UPCoM were VND695 billion and VND314 billion, respectively.

Foreign investors net bought slightly for the second consecutive session.
