10 days to restore order on Nguyen Gia Tri sidewalk, more than 40 violations were handled

After the reflection of Tuoi Tre newspaper, local authorities have resolutely restored order on the sidewalks and road of Nguyen Gia Tri street (Ward 25, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City).

After about 10 days of intensive patrolling, many violations were handled, and the situation of sidewalk encroachment on Nguyen Gia Tri Street (Ward 25, Binh Thanh District) has had positive changes.

Nguyen Gia Tri Street (formerly D2 Street) is one of the busiest areas with many shops and businesses. However, the situation of encroachment on the sidewalk for business and illegal parking affects urban order, pushes pedestrians onto the road, and poses a potential risk of traffic accidents.

After a series of articles reflecting on urban order violations by Tuoi Tre newspaper,   Binh Thanh District authorities have directed Ward 25 People's Committee to immediately implement measures to rectify and restore order on this route.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre newspaper, a representative of the People's Committee of Ward 25, Binh Thanh District, said that since February 24, 2025, the authorities have been deployed to inspect and handle violations of order on the road and sidewalks.

After 9 days of implementation, 43 administrative violations were recorded, with a total fine of up to 80 million VND. The seized items (violations) include 39 carts, 54 signs, 773 tables and chairs of various types...

Thanks to the synchronous and drastic deployment of the authorities, the situation of street vending and parking encroaching on sidewalks has had many positive changes.

According to the People's Committee of Ward 25, in addition to handling violations, the local government also stepped up propaganda to raise awareness among people and businesses by hanging banners, broadcasting on loudspeakers, and sending commitments to each business establishment.

The representative of Ward 25 People's Committee affirmed that in the coming time, the local government will continue to coordinate with functional forces to maintain inspection and strictly handle cases of repeated violations.

However, a few restaurants still have repeated violations after the urban order force patrolled.
