Nhat Van is a football commentator, currently living and working in Cau Giay district, Hanoi. In addition to her work, the young woman also takes the time to experience the life and culture of the local people.

Nhat Van said she has not been able to adapt to the weather and atmosphere in Hanoi after a few months of living there, but she is very satisfied and enjoys exploring the cuisine here because there are many delicious dishes such as fish noodles and beef pho.

On her personal TikTok channel, the Chinese girl regularly shares videos about her daily life in Hanoi. She also introduces Vietnamese fruits and specialties to her followers in the “billion-people country”.

Nhat Van also received many questions from people about what specialties they should buy here as gifts. Therefore, on this trip back to China, she freely shared the items she bought in Vietnam to bring back as gifts for her relatives.

“I bought so many specialties and useful household items from Vietnam to bring back to China that I filled up a large suitcase,” Nhat Van said.

According to the Chinese girl, the items she bought as gifts were divided into two categories. One was food and drinks, the other was household items. She revealed that most of the items were purchased from supermarkets near her home to ensure clear origins and reasonable prices.

On this trip back to China, Nhat Van bought many items such as: Hai Duong green bean cake, whole bean and ground coffee, sponge cake with peach jam, dried beef, dried fruit, peanut candy, shrimp crackers and canned sweetened condensed milk.

Nhat Van said that these are dishes that she has tried and found to suit Chinese tastes. She praised the mung bean cake for its soft texture, which melts in your mouth when eaten. Not to mention, this cake is not too sweet, making it a great match with tea.

Or with instant noodles, she revealed that she bought quite a lot, although China has many famous instant noodle brands. She admitted that Vietnamese instant noodles have a different flavor, so she wanted to buy a lot to bring home to enjoy with her family.

“On previous trips back to my hometown, I also bought many Vietnamese specialties as gifts for friends and relatives. Everyone loved them and praised the deliciousness of Vietnamese food, especially the mung bean cake.

I also gave gifts to Vietnamese friends currently living in China. They felt very touched because they somehow felt less homesick,” Nhat Van shared.

In addition to the above items, Nhat Van also introduced something that he really likes and always buys as a gift when he returns to China. That is a Vietnamese wooden cutting board.

Nhat Van said that the cutting board she bought was made from rosewood, with a pretty eye-catching design and color. Many people think buying a cutting board as a gift is quite funny, but she finds it a useful item that can be used for a long time.

“I love cooking, so I can’t resist cheap and easy-to-use kitchen tools. I bought this cutting board at a supermarket, and it was on sale so it only cost 16 yuan (over 56,000 VND).

The price is very reasonable and I have used it before and found this cutting board to be of good quality,” Nhat Van said.

The young girl also revealed that although the cutting board is quite heavy and can be ordered on e-commerce platforms, she wanted to choose it herself to show her heart and sincerity to the recipient of this gift.

According to Nhat Van, meat, eggs and milk are prohibited on planes, but fish sauce is not. Therefore, she bought Vietnamese anchovy fish sauce because it is her mother's favorite dish.

She also found that the taste of this fish sauce is quite suitable for people from Guangdong. “I bought a large bottle of fish sauce and a pack of small bottles so that my mother could conveniently give it to her friends,” Nhat Van said.

The female commentator also revealed that there were many other items she wanted to buy, but because her suitcase was full, she had to postpone and wait for another opportunity. This year, she spent most of her time in Vietnam, so she will look for and experience other specialties as gifts here.

She also suggested some specialties in Vietnam that are easy to buy as gifts and useful for foreign tourists to choose from, depending on their personal preferences, such as jasmine tea, cashew nuts, bird's nest, perfume, etc.
