Indonesian club recruits striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy

After parting ways with the Turkish club Kuzeyboru, athlete Tran Thi Thanh Thuy continued to go abroad. Thanh Thuy's next destination is the Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk volleyball team of the Indonesian Women's Volleyball Championship (Proliga). Recently, the Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk club released a video of Tran Thi Thanh Thuy's debut. In this video, Thanh Thuy wears the familiar number 3 jersey.

Thanh Thuy is the first Vietnamese female volleyball player to move to Proliga. Previously, at Kuzeyboru, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy only played twice. Last month, the Turkish volleyball team announced that they would part ways with Thanh Thuy after 2 months of the Vietnamese spiker joining.

Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk was founded in 2002, based in Gresik, East Java and is a member of the Indonesian Volleyball Federation (PBVSI). In the Proliga, Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk has won the runner-up position 6 times, the most among other women's volleyball clubs. With the move to the Indonesian league, Thanh Thuy will have more playing opportunities than when she was at Kuzeyboru.

Tran Thi Thanh Thuy wears shirt number 3 at Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk Club

Recently, the Indonesian press has been very interested in Thanh Thuy's transfer. With the presence of Thanh Thuy, Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk Club is expected to improve its performance. Last season, Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk ranked 6th out of 7 participating teams.

Proliga 2025 takes place from January to May 2025, including clubs Jakarta Electric PLN, Jakarta Popsivo Polwan, Jakarta Pertamina Enduro, Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk, Bandung Bank bjb Tandamata, Jakarta Livin Mandiri and Yogyakarta Falcons.

Gresik Petrokimia FC will face Jakarta Pertamina Enduro FC on January 5, 2025. That could be Tran Thi Thanh Thuy's debut match at the Indonesian club.
