Preparing to inaugurate the Lenin monument in Vinh city

Implementing the direction of the Central Party Secretariat and the agreement between the two provinces, Ulyanov province cast a statue of Lenin in the Russian Federation and transported it to Vinh city, Nghe An province for installation.

The statue's grounds and pedestal in Vinh city were completed in June 2020, with an area of 1,036.5 square meters. The statue's grounds are located in the center, at the intersection of Lenin Avenue and Nguyen Phong Sac Street, Vinh city.

In the period of 2020-2021, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, Ulyanov province has not been able to arrange funds for casting the statue. On February 16, 2023, the Governor of Ulyanov province issued Official Letter No. 73-G-01/4181 announcing that the statue was ready to be transported from the Russian Federation to Nghe An province. The statue weighs 4.5 tons, is 3.6m high, and is made of pure copper.

Currently, Nghe An province is coordinating with Ulyanov province to prepare for a meeting between the leaders of the two provinces and organize the inauguration ceremony of the Lenin statue in Vinh city, expected in mid-April 2024, on the occasion of the 154th anniversary of Lenin's birth (April 22, 1870 - April 22, 2024).

The statue of VI Lenin in Vinh city symbolizes the friendship between Vietnam and Russia, and is also a cultural and artistic symbol, expressing the sacred feelings of the people of Nghe An and Ulyanov provinces. Cultural diplomatic activities will further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of investment, trade, health care, education and training, and tourism of the two provinces.

Nghe An Province (Vietnam) and Ulyanov Province (Russian Federation) established friendly and cooperative relations since 2007. The two sides have organized many cooperative activities such as delegation exchanges, cultural and educational exchanges, etc.
Highlights: The government and people of Ulyanov province have paid attention and created the best conditions for Nghe An province to implement the construction and inauguration of the statue of President Ho Chi Minh in Ulyanov city, Ulyanov province in June 2017. The project has great significance, expressing the affection of the people of Nghe An province, Ulyanov province and the Vietnamese community living in Ulyanov province for President Ho Chi Minh.
The Ulyanov city government changed the name of High School 76 to Ho Chi Minh High School on June 5, 2017. Ho Chi Minh High School currently has 1,230 students. The school has a memorial room displaying and introducing the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh and the image of the country and people of Vietnam; signed a memorandum of understanding on educational cooperation between Ho Chi Minh High School, Ulyanov city and Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted in Nghe An province.
The Association of Vietnamese Solidarity in Ulyanov Province, Russian Federation was established in 2004. After nearly 10 years of operation, the Association was admitted by the Ulyanov Provincial Government as a member of the Council of Ethnic Groups of Ulyanov Province and participated in exchange activities with member associations. Currently, the Association has more than 200 members and has conducted many charitable activities in Vietnam and the Russian Federation, such as: supporting the homeland sea and island fund, supporting the Central region people affected by natural disasters, supporting and helping members in difficult circumstances, providing legal advice to members, promoting the cultural identity of the Vietnamese people...
