On behalf of the National Assembly of Vietnam, the Chairman of the National Assembly warmly welcomed the President and his wife and the high-ranking delegation of Mongolia on a State visit to Vietnam.
The National Assembly Chairman highly appreciated the President with a large delegation, including a Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and many National Assembly members, choosing Vietnam as the first country to visit at the state level in Southeast Asia since taking office, showing the importance of the Mongolian leaders and the President personally in relations with Vietnam.

Pleased to see the traditional friendship between the two countries continuously consolidated and developed over the past 70 years, on behalf of the National Assembly and the people of Vietnam, the National Assembly Chairman expressed his gratitude for the valuable support that the State and people of Mongolia have given to Vietnam during the past struggle for national liberation and reunification and the current cause of national construction and defense. The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that the Vietnamese National Assembly always attaches importance to and wishes to develop the friendly and cooperative relationship with Mongolia to a new and higher level, through all channels of the Party, National Assembly, Government and people-to-people exchange.
President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh said that he was honored to make a State visit to Vietnam ahead of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Mongolia-Vietnam diplomatic relations (1954-2024). During the visit, the two countries' senior leaders agreed to upgrade the Mongolia-Vietnam cooperative relationship to a "Comprehensive Partnership" on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2024. The two sides signed an agreement on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, official and ordinary passports; agreed on development directions, and will substantially and effectively implement the discussed contents to promote the areas agreed upon by the two sides. The ceremony to announce the opening of a direct flight between Nha Trang city (Khanh Hoa) and the capital Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) took place on this occasion.

The President emphasized that the traditional friendship between the two countries was founded when the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1954. Recalling the historic visit of President Ho Chi Minh to Mongolia in 1955 and the visit of First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party, Chairman of the Council of Ministers Yumjaagiin Tsedenbal to Vietnam in 1959, it laid the foundation for the extremely good traditional friendship between the people of the two countries. The President highly appreciated the important role of generations of leaders of the two countries in laying the foundation and developing the good cooperative relationship between the two countries.
Emphasizing that cooperation between legislative bodies is very important in the relationship between the two countries, the President said that he welcomed the expansion of cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries. The President affirmed that in his position, he will promote cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries and promote cooperation between the two Parliamentary Friendship Groups. The President said that this is an important cooperation mechanism, contributing to strengthening political trust between the two countries.

The National Assembly Chairman congratulated President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and President Vo Van Thuong on their successful talks with many cooperation documents signed; within the framework of the visit, the two countries' Business Forum took place. Agreeing with the President's shared opinions, the National Assembly Chairman said that the two countries' National Assemblies have signed a cooperation agreement for the period 2018 - 2022. The leaders of the National Assembly, the National Assembly's agencies and the Vietnam - Mongolia Friendship Parliamentarians' Group maintain exchanges and delegations. The two sides maintain contact, consultation and mutual support at multilateral forums in the region and internationally.
On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue thanked and hoped that President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and the Government of Mongolia would continue to create favorable conditions and protect the legitimate rights of the Vietnamese community living, studying and working stably and long-term in Mongolia. At the same time, the National Assembly Chairman affirmed that the National Assembly and the State of Vietnam will do their utmost to create favorable conditions for the Mongolian community in Vietnam.
The two leaders agreed to continue to strengthen close cooperation and support each other at international and regional forums of mutual interest such as the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, ASEM, ASEAN (ARF), and UNESCO; affirmed the importance of ensuring peace, security, safety, and freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea, and complying with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
