The two leaders agreed to strengthen cooperation in the fields of security-defense, science-technology, innovation, education-training, culture-sports, music, arts, and people-to-people exchange.
According to VNA special correspondent, on the afternoon of January 20 local time, within the framework of an official visit to the Czech Republic, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Czech President Petr Pavel.
At the meeting, President Petr Pavel welcomed and highly appreciated the official visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Government on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1950-2025), considering this an important milestone to promote the further development of the Czech-Vietnamese relationship; highly appreciated the role and position of Vietnam in the Asia-Pacific region; affirmed that there is no country in Asia with which the Czech Republic has such good relations as with Vietnam; wished to develop cooperative relations with Vietnam in all fields.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his joy at visiting the beautiful country of the Czech Republic, expressing his admiration and congratulating the great achievements the Czech Republic has made in the process of socio-economic development and European integration, contributing to enhancing the role and position of the Czech Republic in the region.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh respectfully conveyed the greetings of General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to President Petr Pavel; thanked the Czech leaders and people for their warm and respectful reception of the delegation; and emphasized that the Vietnamese people always remember the Czech people's selfless, pure, righteous, and wholehearted support and assistance given to Vietnam in the past struggle for national independence and reunification and in the current socio-economic development.
The Prime Minister affirmed that in implementing the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification and multilateralization of international relations, Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to strengthen relations with traditional friends in the Central and Eastern European region, of which the Czech Republic is one of the top priority partners.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh informed President Petr Pavel of the very successful outcome of his talks with Prime Minister Petr Fiala. The two leaders expressed their delight at witnessing a historic moment in the bilateral relationship, which was the upgrading of bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Discussing orientations and measures to deepen and make bilateral relations more effective, the two leaders agreed to continue to increase contacts and exchanges of delegations at all levels, especially high-level ones, to enhance political trust and mutual understanding, worthy of the Strategic Partnership.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed President Luong Cuong's invitation to President Petr Pavel to soon visit Vietnam.
In terms of economy and trade, the two sides agreed to continue to fully and effectively implement the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), striving to increase trade turnover to 5 billion USD in the coming time, creating favorable conditions for each other's goods to be more present in each other's market; encourage Czech enterprises to increase investment in Vietnam in areas where the Czech Republic has strengths such as digital transformation, pharmaceuticals, food industry, manufacturing and processing industry, mineral exploitation and processing, etc.

President Petr Pavel appreciated Vietnam's unilateral visa exemption for Czech citizens in 2025 and wished to soon open a direct flight between Hanoi and Prague.
President Petr Pavel will urge the remaining European countries to soon ratify the EVIPA agreement, affirming support for the EC to consider removing the IUU yellow card for Vietnam's seafood exports; and agree that the two governments will soon build an action program to implement the newly established strategic partnership.
President Petr Pavel highly appreciated the community of 100,000 hardworking, educated, Czech-speaking Vietnamese people, the third largest ethnic minority in the Czech Republic, who have made important contributions to the Czech Republic and to the friendship between the two peoples.
The Prime Minister thanked the Czech authorities at all levels for supporting and creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community and hoped that the Czech Republic would continue to support the community to integrate more deeply into the host society, contributing more to the socio-economic development of the Czech Republic as well as the good friendship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic.
Responding to President Petr Pavel's interest in learning about Vietnam's human rights policy, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared that human rights in Vietnam are clearly stipulated in the Constitution and laws, which clearly state the right to freedom, the right to life, and the right to pursue happiness. Vietnam always gives high priority to social security and has done a very good job in social security, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters and floods.
President Petr Pavel expressed his gratitude and approval for Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's sharing, which helped the Czech Republic better understand the correct policies of the Vietnamese Party and State on the above issues.
Regarding multilateral cooperation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and President Petr Pavel agreed that the two countries will continue to closely coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums, especially at the United Nations and ASEAN-EU cooperation, contributing to peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Discussing the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the Prime Minister emphasized Vietnam's consistent stance that all disputes and conflicts must be resolved by peaceful means, without the use or threat of force, in compliance with the United Nations Charter and international law; affirming that as a country that has suffered much pain and loss due to war, Vietnam fully understands and is ready to participate in efforts to seek a sustainable peaceful solution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict with the participation of relevant parties./.
