Continuing his official visit to Iran, on August 9, in Tehran, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly visited and worked at the Iran Center for Innovation and Technology (IHIT) in the capital Tehran.
At the meeting, First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber and IHIT leaders expressed their delight at welcoming the National Assembly Chairman and the delegation to Iran on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1973-2023), affirming that Vietnam is one of Iran's important partners in the region; at the same time, expressing their desire to strengthen and promote cooperation with Vietnam in all fields, especially economics, trade, culture, tourism and people-to-people exchange.
In particular, according to Iranian leaders, innovation and science and technology are important priority areas in strengthening relations between the two countries.
IHIT leaders wish to promote cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of technology and innovation.
Talking with the center's leaders, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that the relationship between Vietnam and Iran is developing well, on the basis of mutual trust, increasingly diverse economic cooperation and much potential... This is a solid foundation for businesses of the two countries to expand cooperation.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, Iranian Vice President Mohammad Mokhber and IHIT leaders shared the context of the world entering the 5.0 industrial revolution. Iran said it has pioneered investments in new fields such as healthcare, digital transformation, science and technology, pharmaceuticals, etc.
The National Assembly Chairman emphasized that Vietnam has recognized the development trend early, is determined to transform and is accelerating the process of restructuring the economy, transforming the growth model, focusing on knowledge content, digital economy, sustainable development, innovation... These areas play an important role and are new development drivers in the coming period.
Regarding the potential and desire to explore and promote cooperation opportunities between the two sides as desired by the leaders of IHIT, the National Assembly Chairman affirmed that in order to maintain a rapid and sustainable growth rate for many years, Vietnam has developed based on three decisive breakthrough factors, which are institutional reform; investment in education, science and technology and investment in infrastructure. The field of digital transformation and digital economy has received attention and focus; with a policy requiring each research institute, university, etc. to be an innovation center.
The National Assembly Chairman announced that Vietnam has established the National Innovation Center, under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, which is expected to be inaugurated at the end of October 2023.
This is expected to be the largest Center for technology, science, innovation, and startups in the region, gathering a large number of experts, intellectuals, scientists, businesses, and leading corporations in the world (like the model of Samsung, a Korean enterprise, here), to promote the creative startup ecosystem, and is also a place to regularly organize events, exhibitions, forums, and specialized scientific seminars on a national and regional scale.

IHIT leaders expect that Vietnam and Iran have many opportunities and potential for cooperation in the fields of high technology and innovation, nanotechnology, biotechnology, and even satellite research, microelectronics, etc.
According to the suggestion of the National Assembly Chairman and the assessment of IHIT leaders, IHIT will soon organize research and plan to strengthen research and study updated information on the fields of science, technology and innovation in Vietnam. IHIT leaders will coordinate, exchange and research with relevant agencies and units based at the National Innovation Center of Vietnam.
The National Assembly Chairman pledged that the National Assembly and the Government of Vietnam will always accompany, create favorable conditions, and support foreign enterprises, including Iranian enterprises, such as IHIT, to invest and do business effectively, for the benefit of both sides.
On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman respectfully invited the Vice President of Iran to arrange a time to visit Vietnam.
The National Assembly Chairman invited IHIT leaders to attend and display IHIT products and services at the inauguration ceremony of the National Innovation Center in October 2023.
