As a veteran of VTV, considered a “national MC”, journalist Lai Van Sam is always discreet about his personal life. In particular, information about the male MC’s wife is rarely revealed.

It is known that MC Lai Van Sam's wife once studied in Russia. Here, the male MC and his wife met and fell in love. Not only did they give Lai Van Sam a warm family, a place to rely on mentally, his wife and family also took care of him when he was struggling to find a job after returning home.

Specifically, in 1981, Lai Van Sam returned to Vietnam from Russia but could not find a job. He decided to return to Russia to seek opportunities as an interpreter but was unsuccessful. In 1987, he returned to Vietnam and worked for Vietnam Television as a football commentator and translator of Russian sports news.

After working for only about a year, the male MC became unemployed again. During this time, he decided to help his wife's family sell goods at Dong Xuan market. But thanks to the period of selling goods with his wife's family at the market, Lai Van Sam had a chance to work with VTV once again and gradually became a veteran MC of Vietnam Television.

Talking about his wife and her family, the male MC affirmed that she was the one who changed his whole life: "If I hadn't met my wife, I might not be as kind as I am now."

The male MC couple is very affectionate.

Because he respects his wife so much, after retiring, Lai Van Sam spent all his free time with her, making up for the busy years with work.

His wife also happily accompanies the male MC on sudden business trips : "Now that I go to work, I always have my wife by my side. We spend more time together, going out together, going to work is like going out. Even today, attending an event in Ho Chi Minh City, I also went with my wife."

Sharing about his retired life, MC Lai Van Sam said that to get the "powerful person" to go with him on business trips, he had to coax and "struggle":

“Now, 100% of the time I have my wife by my side. But don’t tell her to follow me, she will scold me if she hears. I had to coax and invite her to agree to go with me.”

Lai Van Sam also affirmed that even though he is at the age of "thất thập cổ lai hy", for him, a home-cooked meal cooked by his wife is still the best thing:

“Up until now, I have only eaten home-cooked meals from my wife. I find it difficult to eat meals cooked by others. If we have the chance on the weekends, we go out with our grandchildren.”

In the rare images shared by the male MC and his son, Lai Van Sam's wife has a face that is said to "have a married look" with her husband.
