Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign 2024 towards disadvantaged areas and ethnic minority areas

The launching ceremony of the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign was held in Xuan Giao, Bao Thang district.

The launching ceremony was attended by leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, the Provincial Youth Union, leaders of the District Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Bao Thang district; the Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Xuan Giao commune; accompanying units and 300 cadres, union members and youth in the province.

On March 13, 2024, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee issued Plan No. 187-KH/TĐTN-PT on organizing the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign. The period will take place from April to August with 1 program and 4 campaigns including: "Supporting the exam season" program; "Green summer" campaign, "Red phoenix flower", "Green march", "Pink vacation" with the participation of the corresponding youth force groups.

Ms. Giang Thi Mai, Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, delivered the opening speech at the Launching Ceremony of the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign.

At the launching ceremony, many meaningful activities took place: Launching the summer volunteer teams and handing over the flag of the Youth Volunteer Campaign; presenting the "Happy Home" support sign to students in difficult circumstances worth 80 million VND; presenting water purifiers to Primary School No. 1 in Xuan Giao commune; presenting 100 cartons of Moc Chau milk; presenting 30 gifts to students in difficult circumstances in Xuan Giao commune.

Also at the ceremony, response activities took place: The program "Young Doctors' Day following Uncle Ho's teachings" organized free medical examinations for local people; implemented activities in response to World Environment Day 2024, exchanging plastic waste for trees and launching the "Message Tire" model; launched the second Green Sunday, general cleaning and landscaping of inter-village roads; inaugurated the project "Lighting up the countryside road" in Vang village, Xuan Giao commune; launched the Community Digital Technology Team, guiding people to install and use electronic payment accounts.

Total value of programs and activities is about 500 million VND.

The 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign is very important, launched on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Youth Union at all levels and young people nationwide implementing the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign; the 60th anniversary of the "Three Ready" movement; 10 years of "Year of Youth Volunteers". Through the youth volunteer campaign, it creates an environment and motivation for union members and young people to assert themselves, while educating the spirit of "mutual love" and good moral values, an opportunity for union members and young people to approach reality, practice skills, and form a good lifestyle.
