On January 26 (27th of Lunar New Year), Tan Son Nhat International Airport (TIA) continued to welcome a large number of passengers to complete procedures to begin their journey home for Tet. Today, the airport is expected to operate 984 flights with approximately 146,678 passengers departing/arriving.

According to a representative of Tan Son Nhat International Airport, to enhance service to people during the peak Tet holiday, the unit has arranged forces including youth union members of the port, youth union members of the Vietnam Aviation Academy and youth union members of the Tan Son Nhat International Airport Border Police to support passengers in the public lobby area, security screening area and border police area.

Youth Union members participate in support during peak hours from January 22 to 27 (December 23 to 28) and from February 1 to 3 (January 4 to 6).

Sharing with reporters, Ms. Thanh Tam (from Binh Dinh) said: "Today, I went to the airport to return home to celebrate Tet. The airport on the 27th of Tet was very crowded, but thanks to the support and guidance of the volunteers, the procedures were very convenient. Especially, for families with small children, the volunteers enthusiastically supported and looked after them, looking very lovely and precious."

In addition to the security screening area, volunteers also help arrange carts in the parking lot and public lobby.

Mr. Phung Thanh Tu - Secretary of the Youth Union of Tan Son Nhat International Airport shared that there are 100 youth union members from various forces participating in supporting passengers at the port from 5am to 11pm.

"You are divided into 3 shifts to serve the people, in which shift 1 is from 5am to 11am, shift 2 is from 11am to 5pm and shift 3 is from 5pm to 11pm" - representative of Tan Son Nhat International Airport informed.
