On the afternoon of December 3 in Hong Kong (China), Chau Tuyet Van and Nguyen Thien Phung won the gold medal in the U50 mixed doubles event of the 2024 World Taekwondo Championship. This is the third gold medal of the Vietnamese team at the tournament.

Chau Tuyet Van and Nguyen Thien Phung defeated the Danish team in the final. The Vietnamese pair performed two routines with judges scoring 9.040 and 8.980 points respectively.
Yesterday, December 2, Chau Tuyet Van was also part of the team that won the gold medal in the U50 standard boxing team event. She and her teammates Lien Thi Tuyet Mai and Nguyen Thi Le Kim defeated three Korean martial artists Cho Da-hye, Jang Myung-jin, and Kim Eun-ju in the final match.

The 2024 World Taekwondo Championships will take place in Hong Kong, China, from November 30 to December 4. After four days of competition, South Korea is currently leading with 12 gold medals, far surpassing its rivals.
