Professionalization of agriculture
With a raw material area of 400 hectares, yielding an average of 1.2 - 2 tons/ha, Long Viet Agricultural Service Cooperative, Quang Truc Commune, Tuy Duc District (Dak Nong) has become a professional macadamia production and processing unit.
The cooperative has invested in high-tech cold storage for preservation purposes, contributing to improving the quality of macadamia products. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Dung, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Long Viet Agricultural Service Cooperative, said that the low temperature in the cold storage keeps the macadamia nuts crispy, not soft or damp.
This also helps to preserve the characteristic flavor of macadamia. The nutrients of macadamia are not lost or changed due to the impact of the external environment.
In the period of 2021 - 2025, Tuy Duc determines to develop commodity agriculture, applying high technology (NNƯDCNC). The district develops strong crops in a modern direction, with the ability to compete in the market.
Although Germany has over 2,375 hectares of various crops applying scientific and technological advances in production, accounting for 4.2% of the total agricultural production land area.

The value of agricultural production using high technology and some high technology accounts for 5.6% of the district's agricultural production value. Income per hectare of cultivated land using high technology increased by about 10.2% or more compared to 2020.
Regarding livestock farming, large livestock enterprises and households in many localities in the district continue to invest in agricultural technology to increase productivity, improve product quality, prevent and control diseases, ensure environmental hygiene, and contribute to sustainable livestock farming development, especially agricultural technology in pig farming.
In the period of 2021 - 2025, Tuy Duc planned 4 high-tech agricultural production areas including: 600ha coffee area in Dak R'tih commune, Quang Tan; 300ha pepper area in Dak Buk So commune, Quang Tam; 200ha vegetable, root and fruit production area in Quang Tam commune, Dak Buk So; high-tech agricultural production area in Quang Truc commune, scale 400ha.

According to Ms. Phan Thi Khuong, Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tuy Duc district, agriculture has made an important contribution to the economic development of the district in recent years.
The district’s agricultural production is increasingly professional, shifting towards commodity production. This is a premise to increase productivity, added value and ensure sustainable agricultural development.
Spearheads of the main plants
In recent years, Tuy Duc has proactively planned production areas according to the potential and advantages of each area. The district arranges and structures crops and livestock according to concentrated and specialized areas.
Macadamia has become a potential and key crop of the district. This crop brings high economic efficiency and solves the livelihood problem for many ethnic minority households in Quang Truc and Quang Tam communes.
Coffee, pepper, cashew, and rubber have all affirmed their value as key crops and brought in the main source of income for thousands of farming households in the district.
Tuy Duc has established 5 large-scale commercial growing areas for key crops: a cashew production area of 8,500 hectares in Dak Ngo commune; a pepper production area of 2,100 hectares in Dak Buk So, Quang Tan, Dak R'tih and Quang Tam communes; a coffee production area of 12,500 hectares in Quang Tan, Dak R'tih and Dak Buk So communes; a macadamia production area of 1,500 hectares in Quang Truc commune; and a green vegetable production area of over 450 hectares in Dak Buk So and Quang Tam communes.
Tuy Duc district focuses on implementing well the two Projects on Restructuring the Agricultural Sector and the Project on Developing High-tech Agricultural Areas.
Implementing the projects, the district has applied new varieties to production such as high-yield coffee varieties (TRS1, TR4, TR9, dwarf green, vine coffee); grafted macadamia varieties (QN1, A38, OC); hybrid rice varieties (ST24, ST25, VT404).
The district implements Sindization of cattle herds and lean pig herds. Tuy Duc develops concentrated livestock farm models, ensuring disease safety and environmental hygiene.
In recent years, the district has stepped up support for farmers, cooperatives, and businesses to invest in technology in agricultural production. In particular, the district has built many models of water-saving irrigation, production in greenhouses, and invested in machinery for deep processing of coffee, macadamia, pepper, etc.
The average growth rate of Tuy Duc district's agricultural sector in the period 2021 - 2025 is 8.2%/year. By 2025, the average value of products obtained per hectare of cultivated land in the district will reach 120 million VND/year, 1.5 times higher than in 2020.

Some agricultural products of the district have created brands and affirmed their position in the consumer market such as: Japanese sweet potato products, dried macadamia nuts...
Ms. Pham Thi Phuong, Standing Deputy Secretary of Tuy Duc District Party Committee, assessed that the district has created a strong transformation in agriculture in the recent period.
This is the premise for the district to continue promoting agricultural development in a modern direction, increasing added value and aiming for sustainability in the next period.
