Thanks to the development of modern livestock farming, linkage, disease protection..., Ha Tinh's poultry meat output in 2023 will reach about 26 thousand tons, egg output will reach 358 million eggs.
In 2022, Ha Tinh Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company No. 1 (Quan Nam village, Hong Loc commune, Loc Ha district) invested tens of billions of VND to rent land and build a Hong Loc chicken farm of nearly 5 hectares, 2 barns with a scale of 40,000 chickens/batch. In 2023, the chicken farm came into operation, the enterprise cooperated to raise chickens with Japfa Comfeed Vietnam Co., Ltd. (located in Vinh Phuc province).

Mr. Truong Van Du - manager of Hong Loc chicken farm said: "Due to avoiding the epidemic and perfecting the production process, in 2023, we only raised 2 batches, selling 80,000 chickens, with a total weight of 160 tons of commercial chickens. With a selling price of 54 - 56 thousand VND/kg, in 2023, we will have a revenue of nearly 9 billion VND, a profit margin of 9%".

In addition to ensuring profits for the business, creating jobs for local workers, and improving the efficiency of using previously abandoned barren land, this chicken farm also provides thousands of quality chickens (medium-sized) that have been vaccinated against diseases for local breeders.
Due to the initial business performance being quite effective, currently, Ha Tinh Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company No. 1 is continuing to complete land lease documents, investing more resources to soon expand the scale of the barn, aiming to raise 100,000 pigs/batch as the production plan has been built.
About 3 km from Hong Loc chicken farm, Tai Luc Livestock Cooperative's chicken farm is also very successful. Currently, this farm is selling a commercial chicken coop to serve the Tet demand, estimated at about 12 tons. In 2023, this farm will sell more than 210 tons of commercial chicken, with revenue of nearly 11 billion VND, and profit of 10%.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hien - Director of Tai Luc Livestock Cooperative shared: "Thanks to modern livestock farming, cooperation with enterprises, good disease control, stable output... for nearly 10 years now, every year we have produced effectively, bringing good profits. Currently, we are raising 40 thousand chickens/batch using the flock-to-batch method. On average, each year, we raise 3 - 3.5 batches with an output of about 200 - 220 tons of commercial chickens, bringing in a profit of over 1 billion VND".
Loc Ha farmers raise laying ducks industrially.
Mr. Le Hong Co - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Loc Ha district informed: "Currently, in Loc Ha area, there are 25 models of raising chickens and ducks with a scale of 500 - 2,000 chickens/batch. Thanks to the development of industrial livestock farming associated with maintaining small and medium-sized household farming, the poultry flock in the area currently has 291 thousand birds, meat output reaches 955 tons/year, egg output is nearly 6.5 million eggs/year, for an economic value of 34 billion VND".
Recently, in Ha Tinh, there are many very modern poultry farming models, large-scale investment, deep linkages... diversifying the livestock picture in the area. In particular, many new farms have appeared, bringing high economic efficiency such as the model of raising Egyptian egg-laying chickens in Dong Vinh village, Luu Vinh Son commune (Thach Ha district).

Mr. Tran Hau Quy - owner of an Egyptian chicken farm for eggs said: "In 2022, I invested nearly 6 billion VND to build a campus, build a cage, buy modern machinery and import 10,000 quality breeding hens. Thanks to the superior breeding process, good care and management, on average, each month, we harvest about 275,000 eggs, selling them to the market for nearly 800 million VND, with a profit of about 220 million VND. In addition, every year and a half, we have an additional source of hundreds of millions of VND from selling discarded chickens when replacing the flock with a new batch."
Due to the advantages of experience in livestock farming, abundant land fund, many policies to encourage production, favorable consumption market..., in recent years, livestock farmers in Ha Tinh have boldly invested in poultry farming, especially chickens. All districts, towns and cities in the province have large-scale industrial chicken farming models linked with enterprises or farms with a scale of 500 chickens and ducks/batch or more. Thereby, contributing to the development of the livestock industry, maintaining the production rhythm, limiting epidemics, providing the market with important food sources, creating jobs and income for people.

Up to now, the total poultry herd in the province has reached 10 million (up 0.6% compared to 2022), of which the majority are raised in 39 chicken farms associated with companies such as Japfa, CP, Golden Star... According to estimates, the total poultry meat output in 2023 in the province is estimated to reach nearly 26 thousand tons, egg output is estimated to reach nearly 358 million eggs, bringing in hundreds of billions of VND in revenue for farmers".
