Ha Tinh: Mai Phu Commune aims for the big festival "Advanced new rural commune"

DNVN - Determining that building a new rural area (NTM) has no starting point and no ending point, Mai Phu commune, Loc Ha district, Ha Tinh province continues to improve and enhance the criteria and aims to build an advanced NTM. After many years of efforts, the commune is now on track to be recognized as meeting the advanced NTM standards.

Mai Phu commune was recognized as meeting the New Rural standards in 2018. Every year, Mai Phu commune always proactively organizes synchronous and effective implementation; proactively reviews according to 14 new rural criteria in the village and synthesizes and builds into a general plan of the commune, thereby clearly defining tasks for each month, each quarter and each criterion for each village.

Actively encourage people to develop their potential in terms of land, labor, and capital to maintain and diversify agricultural production, small-scale industry, and service industries in which the locality has advantages, in order to continuously increase income/unit area and increase per capita income; continue to develop more enterprises and cooperatives, pay attention to solving local employment and increasing the participation of workers in exports, gradually promoting the formation of safe, effective, and sustainable production and supply chains.

The commune has a paved road system with 5.3 km of commune roads; invested in installing a lighting system for commune roads with 5.5 km and 100% of the roads and alleys have street lights. Installed a system of propaganda billboards on the commune roads and residential areas. Upgraded, opened the sidewalks to build flower beds and other items on the identified tourist routes.

From 2018 to now, the commune has expanded nearly 11 km with 26 village roads and intra-field roads ensuring compliance with regulations. With 6 provincial-level historical and cultural relics, of which one is national-level, 6 large family church gates were relocated, 25 family gates worth 30-70 million VND were relocated. 7/7 cultural houses and village sports grounds were renovated and cleaned, badminton courts were built, stages were built, warehouses, toilets and cultural facilities were built; 3 village sports grounds were completed, 5 outdoor village sports sets were installed in 7 villages; 4/7 ecological inter-family groups were built, and 458 household wastewater treatment systems were installed.

The commune currently has two high-tech shrimp farming models with 30 hectares, 80 hectares of clam and mollusk farming and 40 hectares of invasive farming. This is the commune's strength, contributing to economic growth and income for the people. In addition, the commune has mobilized nearly 10 billion VND in socialized resources to build facilities at the primary school, build gates, garages, drainage systems, raise and pave the yard, build stages, open village roads, rebuild gates, fences, and auxiliary works in the commune. Up to now, schools in the commune have been recognized as phase two standards.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Bac, Chairman of Mai Phu Commune People's Committee, said: identifying economic development as the key to improving the criteria of NTM, Mai Phu commune focuses on promoting the transfer of science and technology applications in agricultural and fishery production; building and replicating production linkage models associated with processing and consumption; reviewing agricultural and fishery production planning for concentrated commodity production; supporting and attracting enterprises and cooperatives to invest in agriculture and rural areas; restructuring the agricultural sector associated with building NTM and supporting the development of production according to the value chain, especially clean and safe agricultural production; mobilizing, integrating, and using economically and effectively resources to build essential infrastructure, especially infrastructure directly serving people in production and daily life.
