With 93 years of age and 61 years of Party membership, the prestigious Truong Van Ba in Phu Minh village, Thuong Hoa commune, Minh Hoa district, Quang Binh province is still clear-headed and confident in every word he says. Phu Minh village is located at the foot of Da Deo pass, with 40 households living there, more than half of whom are Chut people.
In the past, people's lives faced many difficulties. Thanks to ethnic policies such as support for production land, trees, and breeds, people's lives have become increasingly prosperous. In addition, thanks to solidarity and enthusiasm for work, many households have built solid houses.
Mr. Dinh Van Giao, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuong Hoa Commune, said that the changes in Phu Minh village were contributed by Mr. Truong Van Ba, a prestigious person in the village. From public matters of the village to private matters such as marital discord, disputes between neighbors... as long as Mr. Ba stood up to resolve, everything would be "smooth" again. Especially in the propaganda of guidelines, policies and bringing ethnic policies to the village, prestigious person Truong Van Ba said that the people believed and complied very well.
Born in 1931 and raised in the legendary Da Deo Pass, Mr. Truong Van Ba soon realized his responsibility for the nation's war of national defense. Growing up, he joined the ethnic minorities in Minh Hoa District, Quang Binh Province to carry ammunition, transport food... Make markers at Da Deo Pass to guide our vehicles to the battlefield in the South.
In 1963, Mr. Truong Van Ba was honored to join the Party. From then on, Mr. Ba strived harder to be worthy of being a "Party member who goes first and takes the lead".
The country was independent, he worked hard to produce to have an increasingly prosperous life. At the peak, Mr. Ba's family raised many cows and planted many forests, so they had the conditions to send their children to school. Not only did he enrich his family, Party member Truong Van Ba also shared his experience in planting forests and raising cows with the villagers. Thanks to that, there were no more hungry households in Phu Minh village, and the number of poor households decreased significantly. Being a man of his word and of his actions, Party member Truong Van Ba was trusted and loved by the villagers.
Since 2011, Mr. Truong Van Ba has been continuously trusted and elected as a Prestigious Person by the Chut people in Phu Minh village. As a Prestigious Person, Party member Truong Van Ba has built a spirit of solidarity in the village.
In addition to social work, prestigious person Truong Van Ba still participates in growing tea to increase his income.
Along with ethnic policies such as supporting production land, trees, and livestock, the lives of people in Phu Minh village are increasingly developing. In particular, with the foundation of solidarity of the entire village that the prestigious Truong Van Ba has worked hard to build, the people are united in building their homeland to become increasingly prosperous. By the end of 2023, the whole village has only 2 poor households, the number of well-off households and households with solid houses is increasing day by day.
Talking about the prestigious Truong Van Ba, Mr. Cao Ngoc Dien - Head of the Ethnic Affairs Department of Minh Hoa district said: The prestigious Truong Van Ba is truly a "big tree" in Phu Minh village. Mr. Ba is now 93 years old and has 61 years of Party membership. Despite his old age, Mr. Ba is still active and responsible in all activities in the village.
“Along with Mr. Ba, currently in Minh Hoa district there are 37 people recognized as Prestigious People among ethnic minorities. The team of Prestigious People in Minh Hoa district has become an important “bridge” between the Party’s will and the people’s heart. They have made great contributions to the comprehensive development of the ethnic minority areas in the district,” said Mr. Cao Ngoc Dien.
