The bridge named Great Unity in Hung Tien commune

In Hung Tien commune (Kim Son district), many local people still remind each other of Ban bridge but it is affectionately called the great solidarity bridge. The bridge was built by the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee as the main sponsor and mobilized support and contributions from many businesses, philanthropists, dignitaries, religious followers, Front officials...

Leading us on the bridge that locals call the Great Unity Bridge, although its real name is Ban Bridge, Mr. Nguyen Quang Hien (a resident of Hamlet 2, Hung Tien Commune) shared: Before the bridge was built, even though they were only a few dozen meters apart, Hamlet 2 and Hamlet 14 still had to take a detour from this side of the hamlet to the beginning of the national highway, about 1 km away, then turn around on this side of the canal to the other hamlet. The hardest part was during the harvest season, when people from Hamlet 2 went to Hamlet 14 to transport rice home. Taking a detour also made the transportation more time-consuming and laborious. Not to mention, if a family had to hire a car to transport rice home, it would cost 100,000 VND - 150,000 VND/trip... Going around a long distance and then through the market at the beginning of the road with a high density of vehicles also did not ensure traffic safety, causing anxiety for the people.

The abbot of Linh Ung Pagoda (located at Hamlet 14), Venerable Thich Minh Tri shared: Before, there was no bridge, it was very difficult for people to travel, especially when there was a big Buddhist event at the pagoda, people from Hamlet 2 and other hamlets had to park their vehicles at the Commune People's Committee and then walk to the pagoda about half a kilometer, which was very inconvenient for traveling, especially when it was raining or sunny. When the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and Hung Tien commune had a policy to build a bridge, people, Buddhists and the pagoda were very excited and enthusiastically supported. With the desire to contribute to the construction of the bridge, the pagoda and Buddhists of Linh Ung Pagoda donated 50 million VND...

The wish and support of Venerable Thich Minh Tri is also the wish and support of many people in Hung Tien commune in general, hamlet 2 and hamlet 14 in particular, to build a bridge to connect traffic, facilitate travel, and trade goods of local people. Understanding the wishes of the people, in March 2024, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee coordinated with the Party Committee and the government of Hung Tien commune to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Ban bridge. This is a project to welcome the 12th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ninh Binh province, term 2024-2029.

The bridge connects hamlet 2 and hamlet 14 of Hung Tien commune.

The bridge was started to be built with socialized resources, costing about 480 million VND. The bridge was built solidly with the main materials being concrete and steel. In which, the provincial Fatherland Front is the main sponsor and mobilized support and contributions from businesses, philanthropists, religious dignitaries and specialized staff of the provincial Fatherland Front agency in the amount of 300 million VND, the remaining amount was mobilized and arranged by Hung Tien commune.

The bridge has received enthusiastic support from many organizations, individuals and businesses such as: Linh Ung Pagoda and Buddhists 50 million VND; Thanh Hoa Enterprise (Yen Khanh) 17 million VND; Social Policy Bank, provincial branch 30 million VND; Hoang Son Private Enterprise (Ninh Binh city) 50 million VND; Tin Nghia Enterprise (Yen Khanh) 17 million VND...

As one of the sponsors of the bridge construction, Mr. Pham Duc Cuong, Director of the Provincial Social Policy Bank Branch, shared: Along with the effective implementation of policy credit in the province, the Provincial Social Policy Bank Branch also pays attention to joining hands to carry out social security work well in the locality, actively participating in supporting and contributing funds to help complete many meaningful works and projects such as: building bridges, cultural houses in villages and hamlets, building new rural areas... Among them, there is the Great Unity Bridge in Hung Tien commune, a bridge mobilized by the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee. Being able to contribute to the construction of the bridge and witnessing the people of Hung Tien commune having a new bridge, convenient for travel and trade is the joy of those who contributed "bricks" to build the bridge...

After only 3 months of construction, from May 2024, the Great Unity Bridge was completed, serving not only the people of Hamlet 2 and Hamlet 14 but also connecting the hamlets of Hung Tien commune and neighboring communes. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Head of Hamlet 2, excitedly shared: The bridge was built very solidly, trucks can pass through, so it is convenient for transporting goods for the people of Hamlet 2, Hamlet 14 and other hamlets in the commune. Since the bridge was built, the people of the two hamlets have had the opportunity to "get closer together" when they gather to participate in sports and cultural activities every afternoon... Although the name is Ban Bridge, we still call it the Great Unity Bridge because the bridge was built from the solidarity and consensus of organizations, individuals, businesses, dignitaries, and religious followers.

Convenient for travel, daily life, ensuring traffic safety for people, opening up a space to connect with people in the commune and neighboring communes are the results that the Great Unity Bridge brings. In particular, the formation of the bridge is also a "catalyst" to further promote the spirit of solidarity and unity among local people to join hands to contribute to the common work of the village.
