DTO - On the afternoon of April 11, at the Provincial Employment Service Center, the Provincial People's Committee held a thematic conference on "Promoting the sending of workers to work abroad under contracts". Comrades Phan Van Thang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; Huynh Minh Tuan - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Vu Minh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Home Affairs co-chaired the conference. Also attending were representatives of leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors; leaders of the People's Committees of districts and cities; Departments of Home Affairs of localities; Dispatching companies in Ho Chi Minh City with labor recruitment needs in Dong Thap province.

According to the report of the Department of Home Affairs, from 2021 to March 2025, the whole province has 8,340 workers going abroad to work for a limited period under contracts (reaching 100.12%) compared to the target for the period 2021 - 2025 according to Conclusion No. 246 of the Provincial Party Committee, term XI. The number of workers currently working abroad is nearly 6,000, with an average cumulative labor income sent back to the province each year of over 1,800 billion VND. The main labor markets are Japan with 6,951 workers (accounting for 83.3%), Korea with 1,047 workers (accounting for 12.6%), Taiwan with 139 workers (accounting for 1.7%), and other markets with 203 workers (accounting for 2.4%). Workers are concentrated in the following fields: mechanics, electricity, electronics, automotive technology, airport baggage handling, food technology, agriculture, interior decoration, nursing, geological exploration, and molding.

Sending workers to work abroad for a fixed term under contract contributes to increasing budget revenue through remittances from workers to their localities, as well as improving people's lives. In particular, workers who work abroad for a fixed term under contract have the opportunity to learn, improve their skills, foreign language knowledge, accumulate international work experience and expand social relationships. However, people's awareness of sending workers to work abroad for a fixed term under contract is still limited, leading to some people being scammed and losing money, mainly due to lack of reliable information, unclear sources of information, and lack of complete information about sending companies...
At the conference, many delegates presented their opinions and solutions related to the work of sending workers to work abroad for a limited period under contract, such as: assessing the implementation of propaganda and mobilization tasks; monitoring, managing and supporting workers before and after their contracts expire and they return home; orienting tasks to be implemented in the coming time to improve quality, efficiency and avoid risks for workers going to work abroad for a limited period under contract, etc.
Representative of Solex Investment, Trade and Service Joint Stock Company (Ho Chi Minh City) mentioned the labor demand in Japan.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Phan Van Thang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Party Committee highly appreciated the results achieved in the work of sending laborers to work abroad for a limited period under contracts. Continuing to promote the achieved results and overcome the limitations in the coming time, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Phan Van Thang requested Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to continue to thoroughly grasp and implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies on sending laborers to work abroad for a limited period under contracts. Regularly monitor and manage enterprises providing labor sending services in the province, strictly comply with the provisions of law, and prevent fraud against laborers.

Along with that, the Employment Service Center (under the Department of Home Affairs) continues to maintain and promote its role as a focal point to guide the Home Affairs Departments of units in sending workers to work abroad for a limited period under contracts to ensure good policies and benefits for workers, and limit risks to workers. Promote information, propaganda and consultation on sending workers to work abroad for a limited period under contracts regularly and continuously, especially the province's support policies and guidelines; research, advise and propose to develop mechanisms and policies to support vocational training from local budget sources for workers who wish to work abroad for a limited period under contracts.
