(Dan Tri) - Rangers' Robin Propper collapsed on the pitch after a horrific collision with goalkeeper Jack Butland during Rangers' victory over Fenerbahce in the Europa League.
"Terrifying", that's how The Sun described the collision in the match between Rangers and Fenerbahce in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16 last night. The incident happened in the 24th minute, when defender Robin Propper was busy backing up to block a long ball and stop Fenerbahce striker Dusan Tadic. At that moment, goalkeeper Jack Butland rushed out to block.

The Rangers goalkeeper threw his head straight at his teammate. The impact was so strong that Robin Propper collapsed to the ground. The medical staff immediately rushed to the field. They feared that the Rangers midfielder had suffered a concussion or worse.
Immediately, Robin Propper was taken off the field as a precaution, giving way to Leon Balogun. At that time, Rangers were leading Fenerbahce with a score of 1-0.
Rangers were then forced to play with a three-man defence. Minutes later, Fenerbahce equalised through Alexander Djiku.
However, in the remaining minutes, Rangers added two more goals through Vaclav Cerny to win 3-1 on aggregate. With this result, Rangers have a big advantage going into the return leg at home next week.
Rangers fans took to Twitter to pray that Robin Propper was not seriously injured. One person commented: "I hope Robin Propper is ok. He looked in a lot of pain." A second person wrote: "Jack Butland was reckless. I hope Robin Propper isn't seriously injured."

Another added: "It was great to see Robin Propper leave the pitch on his own." A fourth fan commented: "Even though Jack Butland accidentally collided with his team-mate, I don't understand why he ran off so hard." A fifth wrote: "I was really worried when I saw Robin Propper go down."
Rangers manager Barry Ferguson said of his player: "I think Robin Propper was unconscious for a minute or two. He's been conscious since then. I hope Robin Propper is stable. However, I'm cautious about this case. We'll see how Robin Propper is doing in the next few days."
