Opponents that Man Utd and Tottenham can face in the Europa League round of 16

(Dan Tri) - After winning tickets to the 1/8 round of the UEFA Europa League 2024-25, Man Utd and Tottenham will likely have to face tough opponents.

Man Utd won 2-0 at FCSB in the final round of the UEFA Europa League group stage on the morning of January 31. Ruben Amorim's team advanced to the round of 16 after finishing 3rd after the group stage.

8 clubs including Lazio Roma, Bilbao, Man Utd, Tottenham, Frankfurt, Lyon, Olympiakos, Rangers won tickets directly to the 1/8 round. The 16 clubs that must play in the play-offs include Bodo/Glimt, Anderlecht, FCSB, Real Sociedad, Galatasaray, AS Roma, Plzen, Ferencvarosi, Porto, AZ Alkmaar, PAOK, Twente, Fenerbahce, Union Saint-Gilloise and Midtjylland.

According to the results of the round of 16, Man Utd can meet one of the four teams in the same play-off bracket including Real Sociedad, Galatasaray, AZ Alkmaar or Midtjylland. Apart from Midtjylland, all three remaining opponents promise to be difficult for coach Ruben Amorim's team.
