Important bridge to strengthen and nurture the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos

According to the special correspondent of VNA, within the framework of the State visit to the Lao PDR, on the afternoon of July 11, in the capital Vientiane, President To Lam received President of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association Boviengkham Vongdala and comrades in the Association's leadership.

Thanking the President for taking the time to meet him, President of the Boviengkham Vongdala Friendship Association expressed his joy and honor to meet President To Lam during his first foreign trip to Laos; and congratulated the President on being elected by the Vietnamese National Assembly to hold the new position.

Sharing information about the Association's activities in recent times, Comrade Boviengkham Vongdala said that the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association has a very close relationship with the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association. The two sides have coordinated many practical activities, contributing to consolidating and enhancing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

Comrade Boviengkham Vongdala pledged to continue working with the Association's leadership to further promote friendship, solidarity and people-to-people exchange activities with the determination to protect and preserve the special relationship between the two nations as "the apple of our eye".

Speaking at the meeting, the President expressed his joy at making his first State visit in his new position to the beautiful and hospitable country of Laos, witnessing the outstanding achievements of Laos and meeting again with comrades, friends and close brothers of the Vietnamese people.

The President emphasized that the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos have been increasingly consolidated and developed extensively in all fields of politics, national defense, security, economy, education, culture and society, bringing about practical results for the benefit of the people of the two countries.

Expressing gratitude for the sincere sentiments and wholehearted support of the Party, State and people of brotherly Laos, the President affirmed that Vietnam has consistently given top priority to consolidating and nurturing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

The President highly appreciated the role of President of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association Boviengkham Vongdala with his active contributions in educating, propagating, promoting people-to-people exchanges and raising awareness of the people of the two countries, especially the young generation, about constantly consolidating and nurturing the special friendship between the two nations.

The President also requested the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association to continue to coordinate with Lao authorities to pay attention to, help and create favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese, including the Vietnamese community in Laos, to do business and live in Laos, actively contributing to building an increasingly prosperous Laos.

The President emphasized that the Vietnam - Laos and Laos - Vietnam Friendship Associations have great strength and play an important role in the process of consolidating and enhancing the special friendship between the two countries and hopes that this will continue to be an important bridge for the everlasting friendship between the Vietnamese and Lao peoples.
