TPO – Rach Dia Bridge, connecting District 7 with Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City, was officially opened to traffic this morning, November 28, 1 month earlier than the original plan. The project contributes to improving the traffic situation in the area, reducing traffic congestion and contributing to creating momentum for socio-economic development in the southern area of Ho Chi Minh City.
This morning, November 28, the Management Board of Traffic Construction Investment Projects of Ho Chi Minh City (abbreviated as the Traffic Board, the investor) officially opened the Rach Dia bridge project (connecting District 7 with Nha Be district).
Mr. Luong Minh Phuc - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport said that the Rach Dia bridge construction investment project has a total investment of 512 billion VND, of which the construction cost is 146 billion VND, and the compensation, support and resettlement cost is 290 billion VND.

The project aims to build a new Rach Dia Bridge to replace the existing degraded iron bridge that cannot meet the operating load, contributing to improving the traffic situation in the area, reducing traffic congestion, ensuring traffic safety and contributing to creating momentum for socio-economic development in the southern area of the City.
After more than 1 year of drastic implementation of site clearance compensation, with the attention and direction of the leaders of the City Party Committee, the City People's Committee and departments, the participation of the entire political system of the two localities and the support and consensus of the people of District 7 and Nha Be District, 100% of the site was handed over to the investor in September 2023.

After 17 months of concentrated construction, the new Rach Dia bridge project has been completed, inspected and approved by the Department of Transport (DOT) for traffic and put into operation to serve the people, 1 month ahead of the scheduled schedule of December 31, 2024.
“The opening of Rach Dia Bridge to serve the people today, along with the opening of Long Kieng Bridge in September 2023 and striving to start the Rach Tom Bridge construction project in April 2025; starting the Rach Doi Bridge construction project in December 2025 will contribute to making the goal of replacing 4 weak bridges (Rach Dia, Long Kieng, Rach Tom, Rach Doi) on Le Van Luong Street and strengthening traffic connections with Long An province soon become a reality,” said Mr. Luong Minh Phuc.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, the opening of the Rach Dia bridge construction project today will also open 60 peak days and nights of the city's transport sector focusing on accelerating construction progress, disbursement progress, completing and putting into service about 12 packages and projects for the city's people before the Lunar New Year 2025.
