The trillion-dollar road connecting two national highways in Thanh Hoa

(NLDO) - When put into operation, the billion-dollar route connecting two national highways in Thanh Hoa will shorten travel time, opening up space for economic development.

The project of the road connecting National Highway 45 and National Highway 1 has a length of 14.6 km with a total investment of 1,417 billion VND, with the highlight being the Xuan Quang bridge across the Ma River, which has been completed and put into use after 2 years of construction.

The billion-dollar road in Thanh Hoa has been put into operation after 2 years of construction.

This billion-dollar route started construction in January 2023 and is divided into 3 sub-projects. Of which, sub-project 1 (Ma River overpass and the road at both ends of the bridge from Km5+250-Km7+250) is invested by Thanh Hoa Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board with a total investment of 655.4 billion VND.

Sub-project 2 (section Km7+250-Km14+603) is invested by Thieu Hoa District Construction Investment Project Management Board with a total investment of 454.7 billion VND; Sub-project 3 from the intersection with National Highway 1 to the beginning of Song Ma overpass (Km0-Km5+250) is invested by Hoang Hoa District People's Committee with a total investment of 306.7 billion VND.

According to the design, the project has a scale of a level III plain road, the starting point is Km0 intersecting with National Highway 1 at Km 311+890 in Hoang Xuan commune, Hoang Hoa district; the end point is Km 14+603 intersecting with National Highway 45 at Km 56+234 in Thieu Long commune, Thieu Hoa district. There are 6 bridges on the route, including 2 large bridges: Xuan Quang bridge over the river, over 1 km long, and the North-South expressway overpass in the East, over 310 m long.

The project aims to shorten travel time in the East-West direction when traveling from the western districts of the province to National Highway 1.

Once completed and put into operation, the route will shorten travel time in the East-West direction when traveling from the western districts of the province to National Highway 1, reduce traffic pressure via National Highway 45, National Highway 47, National Highway 217 and National Highway 1A, ensuring service for the transportation of goods and passengers.

At the same time, it will create space and favorable conditions to attract investors to Phu Quy Industrial Park, Bac Hoang Hoa Industrial Park, Hoang Hoa district and Giang Quang Thinh Industrial Park, Thieu Hoa district.

The starting point of the project is at Km0 intersection with National Highway 1 at Km 311+890 in Hoang Xuan commune, Hoang Hoa district.

The highlight of the project is Xuan Quang bridge across Ma river.

The bridge has a total investment of over 655 billion VND and is over 1 km long.

The route passes through a residential area in Hoang Xuan commune, Hoang Hoa district.
