On the morning of April 16, the Provincial Religious Committee (Department of Home Affairs) held a conference to update information on the religious situation and provide guidance on Protestant activities and operations according to the law in 2024 for dignitaries and officials of the Vietnam Protestant Representative Committee (North) of Thanh Hoa province, Thanh Hoa Protestant Association, Pom Khuong Protestant Church, and Protestant groups that have been granted registration for concentrated religious activities in the province.

Attending the conference were representatives of the Provincial Police, the Provincial Border Guard Command; leaders of the Provincial Religious Committee and a number of departments and offices of the Muong Lat District People's Committee; dignitaries and officials of the Vietnam Protestant Representative Committee (North) of Thanh Hoa Province, the Thanh Hoa Protestant Association, the Pom Khuong Protestant Church, and Protestant groups that have been granted registration for concentrated religious activities in the province.

At the conference, delegates listened to the leaders of the Provincial Religious Committee and the Department of Internal Security (Provincial Police) disseminate legal regulations on religious activities such as the Law on Belief and Religion; Decree No. 95/2023/ND-CP dated December 29, 2023 of the Government detailing a number of articles and measures to implement the Law on Belief and Religion (effective from March 30, 2024)...

In particular, in the face of the continuing illegal activities of cult organizations such as the "Church of God the Mother", some groups are being influenced by the organization "Saving Grace", the conference also discussed and clarified the plots and activities of hostile forces exploiting religion to sabotage the Party and the State; identified the activities and ways to prevent and combat cults and organizations that exploit Protestantism to operate in the area and the Mong ethnic group in Thanh Hoa province.

Updating information on religious situations and legal documents helps Protestant dignitaries and officials in the province to clearly understand the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws on ensuring freedom of religion and belief. Through that, they can carry out religious activities in accordance with the law; guide and preach to religious people to properly implement the principles and purposes of their religion. At the same time, they fully perform their obligations and responsibilities as citizens towards their homeland, especially actively participating in patriotic emulation movements, contributing with the people of all ethnic groups in the province to successfully and comprehensively achieve the socio-economic development goals set out.
