New domain name issuance associated with digital transformation from June 1

According to the Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC - under the Ministry of Information and Communications), from June 1, 2023, people can register to use new domain name extensions such as "ai.vn" (artificial intelligence field), "id.vn" (online personal branding) and "io.vn" (digital technology field).

Specifically, the domain name "id.vn" is for individuals who are Vietnamese citizens to register to use to promote their images, products, and personal brands on the Internet through websites, online CVs, and blogs. The domain name "io.vn" is for organizations and individuals to register to use digital technology applications, platforms, and services on the Internet. The domain name "ai.vn" is for organizations and individuals to register to use for activities and services related to the field of artificial intelligence.

In addition, according to Circular 20, the registration fee for most national domain names ".vn" has been adjusted down from 50 - 91.6%, the maintenance fee for ".vn" domain names for some domain extensions has been reduced from 30 - 33%.

The above incentives are adjusted appropriately, ensuring wide coverage of users, thereby contributing to promoting digital transformation activities that the Government is vigorously implementing on a large scale.
