(NLDO) - In Ho Chi Minh City, the application of technology in promoting, doing business and developing the tourism industry has made significant progress.
On March 22, Ho Chi Minh City National University held a conference to exchange and share experiences of science and technology enterprises and universities on implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation (Resolution 57).
Attending the event were Politburo members: Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
At the conference, leaders of corporations, science and technology enterprises and university leaders expressed their opinions and suggestions on the implementation of Resolution 57.

According to delegates, Resolution 57 is strategic, innovative and in line with the world's development trends in the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution and the digital age.
In addition, identifying science and technology, innovation and digital transformation as the leading driving force for development is a correct and necessary orientation, creating a foundation to improve labor productivity, promote sustainable development and create competitive advantages for the Vietnamese economy in the coming period.
At the same time, Resolution 57 also clearly identifies entrepreneurs, businesses and people as the center and main driving force of the development process. However, in order for Resolution 57 to truly come into practice, delegates said that it is necessary to expand the scope of implementation, especially for domestic enterprises.
According to delegates, in reality, domestic enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs), have not really grasped and taken advantage of Resolution 57 as a strategic development opportunity.
FDI enterprises have conducted in-depth research and proactively exploited the advantages of breakthrough policies to maintain their competitive position in the global supply chain.
Some opinions suggest that it is necessary to increase investment in the education and vocational training system; encourage universities and colleges to develop practical training programs, especially in areas such as AI, big data, cloud computing and automation.
To develop into a high-tech human resource center in the region, delegates said that it is necessary to exploit and train in the right direction. Vietnam's young human resources will be the launching pad for breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, creating a sustainable competitive advantage for the country.
Resolution 57 is a strategic opportunity for Vietnam to affirm its position and create a strong transformation in the digital age. If implemented consistently and synchronously with the participation of economic sectors from enterprises, people to the public sector, Resolution 57 will become an important driving force to promote sustainable growth, increase national competitiveness and ensure long-term socio-economic development.

Delegates also said that in Ho Chi Minh City, the application of digital technology in tourism promotion, business and development has made significant progress, but there is still great potential to exploit. By investing in infrastructure, creating products and optimizing the tourist experience, Ho Chi Minh City can consolidate its position as a leading tourism center in the region, taking full advantage of the advantages of a dynamic and modern city.
After listening to opinions, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Nguyen Duy Ngoc and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen spoke and discussed with leaders of corporations, science and technology enterprises and leaders of universities.
In his concluding remarks, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Nguyen Xuan Thang acknowledged the contributions of delegates attending the meeting, especially the opinions of leaders of corporations, science and technology enterprises, and university leaders raised during the meeting.
