Warning about fake Palworld game mobile apps

According to IGN , Pocketpair, the developer of the controversial game Palworld, is warning users about mobile apps impersonating the game.

In a recent post on social network X, the developer stated that they do not create any Palworld mobile apps. This announcement was made after they discovered several apps using the Palworld name and product images appearing on the App Store and Google Play.

“These apps have nothing to do with our company. We have reported this issue to Apple and Google, the companies that operate the App Store and Google Play. Please be aware that downloading these apps may lead to the leakage of personal information stored on your smartphone or other fraudulent activities,” Pocketpair said.

Palworld Developer's Warning About Fake Game Apps

The emergence of fake Palworld apps on mobile platforms is not too surprising, as the original game on PC and Xbox achieved resounding commercial success with 8 million copies sold in just 6 days since the release of the Early Access version.

However, Palworld is also one of the most controversial games in recent times. Pocketpair revealed that their employees received death threats after being accused of 'copying' Pokémon. Nintendo also requested the removal of a Pokémon mod in Palworld , and The Pokémon Company also issued a statement: "We intend to investigate and take appropriate measures to address any infringement of intellectual property rights related to Pokémon."
