Improve the quality of eye care services.

At the APEC Conference Center (Tuy Hoa City), Phu Yen Eye Hospital, in collaboration with the Fred Hollows Foundation (FHF), recently organized an in-depth workshop on improving the quality of continuous eye care services. Nearly 50 delegates from eye hospitals in Vinh Long, Tien Giang, Binh Dinh, and Quang Nam provinces attended.

At the workshop, delegates listened to Dr. Lila Raj Puri and Dr. May Ho, medical advisors of FHF, introduce the concept of continuous quality improvement (CQI), cataract surgery quality, the IHI model for improvement/PDSA and CSOM; and analyze the standards for good vision of the Vietnamese Ministry of Health (MoH) and the World Health Organization (WHO). In addition, the workshop shared successful case studies on improving the quality of eye care practices and good hospital management from Phu Yen Eye Hospital.

The delegates presented valuable papers on: Quality management process for cataract surgery (Quang Nam Eye Hospital), Quality management (Binh Dinh Eye Hospital), Building a network of community eye care collaborators ( Vinh Long Eye Hospital), and Admission and growth in the number of cataract surgeries (Tien Giang Eye Hospital).

The workshop provides an opportunity for experts to exchange experiences, update knowledge, and seek solutions to improve the quality of eye care services in the community.
