The Information Security Department (Ministry of Information and Communications) recently warned about a series of fraudulent acts impersonating OpenAI and the Registry Department to attack users' trust.
Criminals create fake social media pages, posting products at low prices to attract buyers. When victims contact them, they ask for a deposit, then block communication to steal money.

In particular, OpenAI impersonation campaigns often target users interested in technology and artificial intelligence.
Fraudsters impersonate OpenAI services and software or create fake promotions, luring users with cheap AI service packages or exclusive features to steal money.
With the campaign impersonating the Department of Registration, the subject targeted users who needed vehicle registration or vehicle maintenance and insurance services.
Fraudsters take advantage of people's trust in government agencies to commit fraud, asking users to pay registration fees, book inspections or low-cost insurance packages.
Notably, the subjects also created fake fanpages of entertainment programs, provided their bank account numbers and tricked users into transferring money.
These are sophisticated tricks that take advantage of the image of reputable organizations to deceive unsuspecting consumers. Therefore, users should always carefully check the origin of websites and only transact through official channels of reputable organizations.
