Inauguration of Dong Nai Province Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities

Dong Nai Province's Boarding Ethnic High School was invested in construction, renovation and upgrading with a total cost of 152 billion VND, aiming to become a national standard school.

On April 19, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province held the inauguration ceremony of the provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities and started the construction of the social housing project (CC1 apartment building under the Social Housing Project in Bao Vinh Ward, Long Khanh City), on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification day.

Dong Nai Province Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities was established in 1993 on the campus of the (old) Agricultural School with an area of ​​nearly 3.5 hectares.

In March 2023, the school was invested in construction, renovation and upgrading with a total cost of 152 billion VND, aiming to become a national standard school.

Dong Nai Province Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities includes 15 classrooms and standard subject rooms; dining room, kitchen for 525 students; multi-purpose hall; male dormitory (about 260 students); traditional house, garage.

Ms. Sam Thi Le Thanh, Principal of Dong Nai Province Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, said that the school initially trained students from primary and secondary levels; in 2000, it added high school level training.

Since its establishment, the school has performed well the task of raising and educating children of ethnic minorities in Dong Nai province; especially indigenous ethnic minorities; it is a place to educate and train human resources for the locality and implement a comprehensive development regime for ethnic minorities.

Each year, the school trains more than 450 students from 25 ethnic groups in the province. Regarding the regime, each month the students receive 1.4 million VND in support from the Central Government and 400,000 VND from the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee.

According to Ms. Thanh, in addition to teaching culture, the school also has a policy of developing and orienting students' careers by linking with vocational schools in the province such as Vocational School No. 8, College of Mechanics and Irrigation to provide free vocational training and consultation for students.
